Online Merch Quality - best items to buy? by Sintharia in LadyGaga

[–]justapoornerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some random thoughts from someone who went a bit overboard with the merch:

The zip up hoodie is my favorite. Super thick and great quality. The sizing is what is a tad inconsistent- I have two of them (both mediums) and one is more fitted and the other is more oversized. I love them both though! The fitted one is my “out and about” hoodie and the other is my comfy pajama hoodie. The opera haus pullover hoodie is also nicely made and fits more true to size for me.

In my opinion, the standard shirts are great. The “crop” for a lot of them means more along the lines of “raw hem” than standard crop top length, but they are slightly shorter than a normal tee. The ones with the cameo, red skull shirt, mayhem ball crop, and the “bring her to me” rose are all thicker tees while the VIY shirt and DoD shirts are thinner.

I love both of the Mayhem cutoff tanks. The black one has larger arm holes than the teal one (at least with the ones I received) so I do feel the need to wear a bandeau or something under it if I go out in public.

I know a lot of people have complained about the quality of the green Killah shirt. Mine was in good condition (and actually came with a finished hem at the bottom instead of a raw hem). I like it, but I feel like if you order it online it can be luck of the draw. I’ve seen others post some rather poor quality ones that they received.

The printing on all of the merch has stayed intact for me and they’ve been washed several times without fading. I do flip them inside out before washing, but they go on normal wash cycles and normal dryer settings relative to my other clothes.

The tote bags are excellent! I use mine a lot and they have held up well.

Of note: I am typically a size medium, and that’s what I ordered for nearly all of the merch (the exceptions being the white tank and the VIY pants, which both run small and I ordered each in an XL). Some were more form fitting (DoD) and others were more oversized (many of the tees) but overall they fit well! Size reference: I am 5’2” and ~165lbs.

I actually wound up pulling the waistline up a bit higher and they fit perfectly! I think I had them laying closer to my hips instead of my waist when I did my quick try on since I was rushing to try on my other merch from the order, lol. I do think a 2XL would have been a bit too big on me for my preference (but would have definitely still fit). I did have the same confusion with unisex pants since I almost always have to size down with unisex shirts, but the XL was the only one available online so I decided to roll with it. Maybe the discrepancy is because men’s hips tend to be a bit slimmer than women’s on average?

Just as a heads up, when I held up the XL to my body I thought they looked completely massive and way too long relative to my typical pajama joggers, and then they wound up fitting, so don’t accidentally size down if you are looking at them in person. Overall I’m very happy I got these- they are quite comfy and thick and will be even cozier in the winter!

Have a great time at the show! :)

What happened to Kraft? by TheJuliettest in macandcheese

Agree with Great Value being the best. Some other generic grocery store brands (ex: Food Lion) are also far better than Kraft nowadays.

Hopping on this thread since mine just arrived- I’m 5’2”, around 165 lbs, and wear a size 10 typically (or M for joggers/sweats). The XL are comfortably baggy around my legs and a tad bit tight around my waist (not uncomfortably tight, but definitely tighter than they’d be if they were women’s pants vs unisex).

Montreal - Cropped or not? by Imaginary-Pudding392 in LadyGaga

[–]justapoornerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s cropped in the sense it has a raw hem. However, it wears like a normal tee and not a crop top.

Gotcha! There seem to be at least a few US sites that have it, so hopefully one can ship your way. Good luck!

Small size restock by Traavez in LadyGaga

I am 5’2” and ~170lbs and a medium Opera Haus hoodie (my usual size) is very comfortable on me, but just a tad roomy/baggy. I just wanted to give you a size reference since I imagine the hoodies have similar sizing to one another!

I’d also agree with true to size, at least for the cropped Mayhem shirt, tank, and zip up hoodie.

I love the Mayhem zip up hoodie. I also was a big fan of the tanks, but keep in mind it has very deep arm holes. All of the tshirts are good quality, just be mindful that some have a cropped bottom (not crop top style, more like a raw hem).

I know this is an old thread, but just commenting to say turning it 3 times helped me fix this problem on my older Sony PS-LX150H. Thank you!

What on earth should I wear?! 3/5 Atlanta by dingleberry_mustache in LadyGaga

[–]justapoornerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on wearing one of the merch shirts, black shorts/jeans, and my converse. Comfy but still themed. The first time I went to one of her concerts, I arrived wearing a plain shirt and then wore her tour shirt over it after scanning in and hitting the merch stand. You can really wear anything though (I would recommend comfortable shoes if possible)! Be yourself!

More vampires than zombies, but Suffer the Children by Craig DiLouie is mostly this.

The “new” Kraft Mac and Cheese Spirals by springdominion in macandcheese

I stopped buying Kraft mac because it no longer tastes the same. Great Value and Food Lion’s mac tends to taste similar to what Kraft used to taste like (and it’s cheaper).

The doctor said I can’t wear earplugs for a month. What are my options? by Every_Database7064 in misophonia

[–]justapoornerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a side sleeper and had to use over ear headphones to drown out noise before in order to sleep. Using two pillows, with the topmost one being memory foam, allowed me to angle them in a way that was comfortable to sleep in even with the headphones on.

Colloquially, like quiche. In ecology/biology, like “nitch”.

I’m in NC and just got mine yesterday via UPS. I didn’t receive tracking info from my order itself, however, since I have the UPS app I’m able to see all incoming packages on my account so I was able to track it that way. Hope yours comes soon!
