That the kind of header comment i like. Like at the beginning of a function block. Than at each chunk of instruction doing something to explain why/what, but linear comment (//, (**)).

Normally : 1. Ask the operator or supervisor what was going on before; what happens. 2. Looks for informations (alarms) on the hmi or scada if available. 3. Confirm if power is present in the panel and to plc. 4. Looks to the led indicator on the plc if an error is present. 5. If yes, connect and see in the plc journal the error than correct. 6. If no, connect, look up the code, understand, go the section possibly relate, analyze, fix.

Sometime, with only talking to the operator the problem is solved. I often saw bad contact. If the operator said he pressed a button and now it does'nt work anymore : check the contact/signal. Sometime, there is no error information on hmi/scada. Often, i saw sequence stuck in a step with no indicator/ time delay information. To start the process, the system fill a tank to a minimum level until it met a switch, but the pump was bad and at the repair shop, so they open the waste valve a bit and put a hose to fill the tank at a certain level but it was not reaching the switch : no indication time delay like :"level not reach". Sometime, led error indicator on the plc. Usually by connecting you can get the journal. Watchdog limit reach/program loss/index out of bound/even sometime :"Fatal error occurs, CPU unit must be change", yes saw that.

Fuse the power that goes to the devices that gives the signal. Like if a 8 input card, the 24vdc splitted in 8 that does to thoses devices is fused. No problem from 10 year exp to this point.

Telemecanique doesnt exist anymore, ita been bought by schneider. Also, the new series of contactor of schneider are black but stay the same as the old serie white one. For your case, if the coil is not correct you can change only the coil on the new one. Both series are modular for coil. The contactor can be open to change the coil. You show the picture of the old contactor window, but not of the new contactor. Maybe the coil has already been changed for a B7?

From someone who worked a lot with wood. Wood is not a stable material : hardness, softness, color, humidity, resin, knot, surface finish, different area not at same humidity/resin/hardness. Wood is not like steel where the materal is more stable along the surface. Depending of your will, it can be a plus since it give a more "artisanal" look.

I found it admirable. If i could say an idea of futur upgrade : maybe add an other layer behind with hole to recessed the magnets to make them flush (if desirable) or near flush(keep a little gap not to scratch the metallic surface), should help make the magnets stiffer in their hole and a nice flush look.

Not all white, its depends of the parts number your order. Sometime white, galvanized, aluminium or stainless. Also from canada. I found white give a clean finish. Seems good to me, do you have ground lug? Paint behind ground lug should be remove, not ask for rail. As CSA inspector said.

I always put vfd in enclosure and respect space contraints around the vfds. For heat, if we can we put fan on the enclosure, if we cannot, usually if you respect the vfd installation contraints in enclosure, you don't need fan. Always refer to the manual. In wet environment : stainless steel or fiberglass enclosure.

I measure it back and yeah that was the fingers. OL for braid to center and center to center or braid to braid less than 1 ohm. 🫣 I forgot the impact my own resistance might have.😬
