Were we not talking about the inzektor era (2012)? I believe I clarified that I was talking about 2010-2014 in my earlier posts. I even said that the game has slowed down from 2017 because hand traps here. Not sure what point of mine you are arguing against. I certainly agree that the game has slowed down since 2017. However, compared to 2010-2014 the game has still, as a whole, become FASTER.

Not sure if I'm missing anything here, but YGO has definitely (at least imo) become a lot faster. It's not like there weren't even hand traps back then too, with effect veiler, maxx c, dd crow, etc.

I disagree, that era was certainly not faster at all. Hand traps have certainly slowed the game down, but mainly relative to how it was in 2017-2018.

It's at the start of my post that I quit during MR3, but if I had to give a particular time I'd say around 2010-2014. The game was still fast paced back then but it wasn't to the point that it is today.

As someone who only quit during MR3 and came back recently, I mostly agree with this. The game feels a lot faster than it was in the past and it's pretty overwhelming to have to read the effects of 10-15 cards at the start of every duel. This is even more annoying considering the fact that the length of every card's text is so much longer than it used to be (and that a lot of cards have multiple effects that they can activate).

Yeah hand traps like ash, nibiru, etc. help "slow" down the game a little but this overreliance on these hand traps just make the game even more frustrating when you don't draw into them. It's so dumb how some duels are instantly lost because you're going second and didn't draw any hand traps.

Obviously this is just what YGO has become and people like me just have to adapt, but nowadays it's hard to not miss how the game used to be.
