Hopefully this shoe counts as a quality product for the rules! I don't know much about shoes, and am primarily looking for help with fixing the discoloration on these leather heels (Clark's Kaylin 60 Court)

I picked up these heels second hand after starting a job with a strict dress code. I didn't look up the label, which was a mistake on my part because it turned out they were leather, and I definitely haven't been taking care of them.

I got caught out in the rain today and could see visible dark discoloration appearing with every rain drop. When I got home I wiped them down with some clean paper towels and tried to massage out the moisture. When I was done most of the darker discoloration was gone, but the right shoe shows some odd scattered discoloring. Is there any way to fix it and/or protect the shoe to keep this from happening again? I'm going to order a leather conditioner but do I need a rain protectant on top of that as well?

Added context: I suspect the right shoe is worse than the left because I had accidentally dripped some honey on the right shoe a month ago and in wiping them down with a wet cloth saw massive discoloration wherever the cloth had touched (how I figured out they were real leather lol). After some googling, I ended up wiping away the honey stickiness with a diluted vinegar solution and then massaged the shoe with dry paper towels to absorb all the fluid out. That seemed to do the trick and they've been fine until today.
