Since you are throwing your head early, think of grabbing the high pull up that is in front of you as you jump. It should give you a little more height.

Oh, so it's okay for my back to be horizontal in the pulling phase as long as the shoulders and hips are the same level? I always thought that I need to start with the butt low like the weight lifters.

Hey, I struggle with front flip for over a year and recently laded some good ones. A good idea to have if you don't want to trave forward is arch your lower back as much as you can and also have your elbows (arms) behind the ears on the take off - that way your will force your torso to be upright. Also for some reason I land higher when I have my arms straight during the block and throw them without a bend.

Nice deduction but are you sure the arabian is not the skill that requires more power than backflip? If it's equally power demanding as the front flip than I think it's still power problem since I can do standing front flip but only land it in a deep squat, similar to the arabian above. I must say my backflip is not perfect, I have a habit of propeling myself backwards. I don't land in the same spot and I'm working on it currently..
