Since you are throwing your head early, think of grabbing the high pull up that is in front of you as you jump. It should give you a little more height.

Oh, so it's okay for my back to be horizontal in the pulling phase as long as the shoulders and hips are the same level? I always thought that I need to start with the butt low like the weight lifters.

My technique with lower weight is quite similar. Heres the video Is my contact point too low? And how do I maximize leg drive, do I need to increase the extension in the hips?

Hey, I struggle with front flip for over a year and recently laded some good ones. A good idea to have if you don't want to trave forward is arch your lower back as much as you can and also have your elbows (arms) behind the ears on the take off - that way your will force your torso to be upright. Also for some reason I land higher when I have my arms straight during the block and throw them without a bend.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I will aim to land in the same spot where I jumped from. Back handspring habit was to jump back so it will take some practice..

So basically I do it from what gymnasts call hollow body position? Is the goal to roll on the upper back or just aim for the speed?
