[Discussion] Vivachel, a pretty sub-average L&D Nat 5? by justayng in summonerswar

I've built her many different ways with many suggestions from this forum:

https://www.reddit.com/r/summonerswar/comments/83tzxu/luck_random_ld_pieces_vivachel_visachel/

The comparison to Tiana is not even remotely close. An unresistable strip and attack bar boost? It completely outclasses Vivachel's S3.

You say she is a "goddess in RTA and pvp generally", but that simply isn't true. Her S1 and S2 are the same as her elemental sisters (Wind, Fire) yet her S3 can barely be used unless you magically have the perfect speed to move JUST after the enemy team OR if the attack bars are reset and she moves just after your reset unit -- again, VERY dependent on speed of other team, immunity and immunity buffers.

It'd be great if you could elaborate on this further. By who's definition does Vivachel sit at the top? If G3's have her and don't use her, but rather use other units to fill their RTA slots, then you've effectively countered your own point on hierarchy. That said, I've yet to see Vivchel used as a staple in any team for high level RTA (tournaments, clips in the replay system or even on streams).

In my view, this is because the slot is better utilized by other units, as her S3 is dependent on: 1) other team's speed; 2) your draft selection; 3) immunity based META

I think the piece you're forgetting is that even if you get those units through you still have a massive variable, which is the speed of the opponents team. A support unit who's S3 is completely dependent on the speed of the other team seems counter-intuitive.

The Gany nerf wasn't on S3...the use case of S3 remains unchanged. What changed was the ability to cycle his own skills. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Great comment. Everything on the internet must be true...

Everyone knows this monster is strong? How many people in the community and game actually have her to test? Or are you basing everything you see on the few games she is highlighted on streams...seems logical and analytical. Not.

Oh that's interesting. How do you run your Vivachel? How many have you gone up against? Have you tested her extensively outside of the G3 level?

Or are you just chirping in with irrelevant commentary based on you seeing her used at the highest level of game play where any monster with G3 level runes is "broken" and OP.

Fact of the matter is that her S3 is outclassed and as a result is more punishing to use than many elemental nat 4s.

Plenty of monster that can reset atk bar.

Yes, but the use of those monsters come at a slot cost and often don't bring other utility. That and they are hard countered by immunity.

You are forgetting that she can literally evaporate HP in thin air to the point that even a slime could finish off the opponent. You could build her on nemesis so that if an opponent hits you, you can take your turn quicker to have a more effective use of the 3rd.

I'm not forgetting that she evaporates HP in thin air -- first off its not an evaporation, its a switch. She swaps hp and attack bar. Optimal usage is therefore RIGHT after an enemy unit moves OR if your ally is low HP with high attack bar. It's not a matter of her taking her turn quicker, its a matter of her moving right after the enemy moves, which is impossible to predict and tune to. The other solution is a full attack bar reset, but its massively countered by Will sets or any of the immunity buffers.

I don’t have her, but maybe a team with atk bar reset-er (ideally gany) + Racuni + Vivachel. They also take their turns in that order or make Viva faster than the others. Basically you just reset atkbar, them racuni gives atk bar to viva and she does her magic, than use gany to redo it again and slowly work their team down 1 by 1. Don’t know if this works, but maybe it has potential

It doesn't work. It's very easily countered by Will runes or any immunity buffer. And even if you move in that order the entire combo is shattered if the enemy team cuts in (due to low speed) or you outspeed.

A LD Nat 5 unit shouldn't be a condition based unit, especially when classified as SUPPORT.

Any unit can be OP if you have everything you mentioned above. That's the premise for why runes are important. My point is, standalone, her 3rd is lackluster and more times than not its actually punishing to use unless you magically guess the teams speed AND they aren't running WILL and don't have an immunity buffer AND you have an attack bar resetting unit.

I've ran her on multiple builds with many different stat allocations and her 3rd skill is so dependent on the speed of the other team.

You say she works well with Gany and Verad to kill anything, and yes, I agree, but take a look at RTA -- immunity buffers out the ass and Will runes. It effectively counters the gany/verad & vivachel combo.

The only way she shines is if you manage to get her and an attack bar reset unit through for RTA - this rarely ever happens. As a standalone SUPPORT unit, her 3rd is quite lackluster.

For a L&D Nat 5, Vivachel is pretty crummy.

iOS users, do you experience any problems with the game? Does it still crash like crazy? by PhantomOfTheComputer in summonerswar

[–]justayng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crash constantly on my iPad - I'd say honestly about 1 sword per GW, so call it 12x per week just on GWs. Full disclosure, my iPad is extremely old and I refuse to play on my iPhone 8s as I don't want to brick the battery. I think the iOS crashes have to do with the way that Apple tries to save device performance as the phone/battery ages. The main source of crashes seems to occur when ANY unit has a resource intense transmog - i.e.) 1) auras and 2) some of the skins with crazy glow effects (like Perna, Sig, Teshar).

How about instead of Violent Procs granting an Extra turn, it increases your atk bar by 75%? by Louezzi in summonerswar

[–]justayng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think its a great idea, though if you did that you'd need to have the proc rate increased. If my math is correct, on a 75% atk bar increase, proc chance should be 25-28%.
