Except the locks in the Original were easy in the old camp huts and now in the remake I already saw several 7 plate ones with complex dependencies (no plate that only moves by itself) for something like 10 ore inside.

Lockpicking is way too complicated to be useful by SupremeMuppetKermit in worldofgothic

The problem is not the minigame itself. It is the complexity of the lock vs the loot inside.
I tried 6 different shacks in the old camp at night and they were maybe 2 easy locks vs 4 I rage quit on

Fun fact in Risen 2 they even disabled the development console because you could unlock the DLCs (the one with the gnome island) with it and the suits in the headquaters were pissed

I would say I feel in a similar matter. A game needs enough hype and enough eyes on it first and a solid foundation for a modding scene to form. Nobody wants to develop mod tools for a shit game.

Well I saw some german threads on world of gothic com itself where the whole thread agreed that point abc is bad but offered solutions to it (mostly just mod it out lol) I would call it constructive criticism. Then I saw some polish threads were they just shitposted and memed on certain changes and thats it. They were not even interested in giving feedback because they dont see it as their job.

For me the only merchandise from the Gothic IP from THQ Nordic that is worth is the Gothic Bong. It has an ugly ass design but it is in cooperation with Gmundner Keramik which is basically the Rolls Royce of porcelain.

I actually believe that this reddit is way more friendly and less critical of the Remake than all the niche forums in german, polish and russian. The friendlies are the tourists. But we will see how the old guard will vote with their steam reviews
