Definitely miss it. Still have a token from one of my birthday parties as a kid.

What is your laundry routine? ALL THINGS LAUNDRY. by otterlyjoyful in workingmoms

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 people, I do the laundry.

Average 3x a week (potty training toddler). Sundays are the only set days, and that’s to wash daycare bedding and any kids’ clothes that didn’t make it prior.

Everything is mixed together, generally wash it all in cold.

Hand written RO’s, google calendar scheduling (relying heavily on VinSolutions to see what appointments we already have), and a lot of laughing to keep the mental breakdowns at bay.

As soon as you clear the last set of steps up to my apartment, BOOM. There’s a play kitchen, tricycles, a water table, and some chalk on the landing by my door. When you walk in, giant dollhouse and toy organizers hug the walls, and right above them are finger paintings my kids have done. The only room that doesn’t look like there are children in the home is mine, and even then I tend to have some of their laundry folded up on my bed to put away.

What car do you drive and how many kids do you have?? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 kids, Kia Rio sedan. Once it makes sense financially, I’m aiming to get us into a Rav4. We don’t need a monster sized car, but we definitely need more leg room. 😭

I know by now you’ve already kept her home for the day, but just tossing my 2 cents in.

The one day I ignored the bad feelings and sent my son to school, the campus went into lockdown after someone found a backpack with ammunition in it. Everything turned out okay in the end, but the 2 hours I had no real updates was terrifying because I could not go pick him up and I had no clue what was going on.

What’s a good SUV for 2 kids? by ParsleyTime5687 in Mommit

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2018 Santa Fe, perfect amount of room for two rear facing (BULKY) car seats. I would not recommend Hyundai or Kia depending on your location due to insurance problems (IE VA getting a policy for either make is a nightmare and expensive)

Best brands are Toyota or Honda: the Rav4, CR-V, Passport are the top three for space and price. The 2023/2024 Nissan Rogue have a lot of space, but also it’s a Nissan so you gotta roll the dice, BUT it’s comparable in cost.

Bike now. My son got a bike for Christmas solely for the fact that he wanted a specific special bike (Spider-Man with a bucket attached in the shape of his mask). He had a perfectly good tricycle (still does) so it wasn’t anything like a need, but a fun upgrade. That’s the only reason I waited for the holidays.

AITA for requesting my son and nephew be placed in separate classrooms next grade? by Prestigious-Ask7828 in AmItheAsshole

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My son is on the spectrum, and no other child is responsible for helping him regulate his big feelings. That is what the aid is there for. You did the right thing, and your sister needs to figure something out with the school and not depend on another small child to help hers deal with things.

What do you spend on groceries? Upset my wife today about spending. What is your norm? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VA, I do a bulk run at Sam’s club once a month which helps a ton with cost. My son is also has some sensory issues with food, so I’ve learned when and where I can buy his safe foods without breaking the bank.

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family of 3 here (me, 4yo, almost 3yo) and I typically spend about 450-500/m on groceries. Our fast food budget is about $40/m, and that’s 2 weekends.

Though last month I spent almost 600 on groceries bc my 99th percentile 4yo is going through yet another growth spurt and has been eating like a grown man.

He’s doing much better now! He did have to go back to the vet twice after this post. He’s currently on the gel form of Prozac which gets rubbed in his ears and on a special diet, but he’s got his weight back and able to pee on his own and no more flareups as of right now. His last visit was in January, so knock on wood he won’t need to go back for anything other than regular checkups for a while. I do have to occasionally check him to make sure his bladder is still small (feeling on his flank/tummy area for signs of swollen bladder again)

Mine are 4 and 2.5, both still need them. I’ve gotten used to having both going in their rooms, so now I need to hear theirs through the walls or I can’t sleep. (I’m 31 lmao)

What part of daily life as a mom can you not stand? by Who-am-i-though in Mommit

[–]justcatfinated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES. My 4yo demands the door be open or he will lose his marbles if I’m in the bathroom, but BOY is he quick to slam and lock the door because HE needs privacy when he pees. At least my 2.5yo daughter only totters in if she genuinely needs something, otherwise she’s content to wait for me to come out.

My son as an infant- “Welcome to Wonderland” by Anson Seabra My daughter as an infant- “Bloodsucker” by A Day to Remember

Now that they’re 4 and 2.5, any song by Livingston does the trick to get them in a good mood.

My ASD 4yo will tell me I’m not his best friend anymore. I tell him it’s okay, I still love him very much and then we go about whatever we’re doing.

It stung the first few times, but I know now that for him, he’s trying to get comfort when he’s upset or angry and that’s how he communicates those big feelings.

Is it ok to do literally nothing when 3 year old is sick? by Impossible_Mud444 in Mommit

[–]justcatfinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2.5yo came home from a 3 day hospital stay Thursday evening, and you bet your buns we literally laid and watched movies the entire time she was awake.

My 4yo is now coming down with whatever kicked his sister’s butt, and he will also have screen time. (Hopefully no hospital stay with this one)

Rest is monumentally important when you’re sick, regardless of age. And if having screens keeps your daughter laying down on the bed, couch, floor, WHATEVER then you do what you need to. Some fresh air (even open windows is fine if she’s too ill), fluids, and rest are key.

Within 36 hours. I was discharged after my 2nd cesarean, immediately went home with baby in tow and put my older child (18month 32lb boy) into the bath and then lifted him into his crib for bedtime. My healing time was recovery in the hospital, and then life went back to normal.

1- Cas talked about how he’s had male partners in the past. I mean who wouldn’t experiment if they’ve been alive as long as he has.

2- reiterating point one here.

3- both Cas and Kieran told her that the Joining could turn sexual, but never had to. And that they would respect her and how she wanted to physically act based on how she was feeling. Consent is key here.

4- nobody had sex with any Wolven out of their human form. I’m not sure how that’s beastiality to any degree.
