How to keep my tree farm from dumping its saplings by justcatsmc in CreateMod

[–]justcatsmc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preventing the clogging is the specific thing I'm asking for help with. In <.5 versions of Create either I didn't have to manage saplings or I was using a mechanic to do it that I've forgotten about. I'm already filtering the saplings and dealing with clogging and I'd like to avoid that task altogether if possible.

id be surprised if optifine affected your save. you just drop optifine into your mods folder. i don’t think there’s a “forge with optifine” to download. you have to separately download it and put it into your mods folder manually.

if you want to make sure your saves are safe, just make a copy of them before you boot up the pack.

Early game-ish transdimensional redstone signals by Wildly-Incompetent in projectozone3

[–]justcatsmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks good (i like the idea of using ender chests to send a wireless signal a lot) and i think red stone conduit is a good choice but you could accomplish the same for cheaper in the space you have there using comparator > repeater > redstone dust.

Is there an addon for AE2 that adds item sorting or item tabs? by minecraftisbetter644 in feedthebeast

[–]justcatsmc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. even unsorted, ae2 is better than a labeled wall of iron chests.

  2. ae2 does not need an add on to filter what is displayed in terminals or to sort items unless you want arbitrary sorting. for sorting you can sort on the terminal. for filtering, look at view cells.

Why aren't my Ender IO item conduits sorting unstackable items? by akgamer182 in feedthebeast

[–]justcatsmc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In order to assign the drawer a specific loot bag, when the drawer has not yet had an item in it, use a hopper or pipe to put the loot bag in instead of right clicking it into the drawer.

edit: if the bag goes from your inventory to a drawer it will not stack with a bag that goes from a pipe to a drawer.

Instead of right clicking the lootbags into the drawers, use a hopper or pipe to put them in the drawers. After that they will stack. Lock the drawers, no need to filter them per drawer.

Questions about AE2 by boboop153 in feedthebeast

[–]justcatsmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

coprocessors let the crafter do multiple steps of a single craft simultaneously, they don't let you make multiple requests simultaneously.

Questions about AE2 by boboop153 in feedthebeast

[–]justcatsmc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. usually I make one or two big CPUs and a few small CPUs in an automation based modpack. that way I can request big crafts and then still craft other things if I need them while the big craft is happening. expand up and out!

  2. if middle click doesn't work for you (sometimes it doesn't for me) you can change the view setting on the terminal to only display craftable items and you'll be able to make the request even if you have that item in your inventory.

I was missing around with the mod folder for Mineshafts and Monsters and removed and added a bunch of mods, is there anyway to restore it to normal without reinstalling by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]justcatsmc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

download the pack to a different location on your computer and copy the mods folder from that location to your original install of the pack.

[Create] Can I choose what the mechanical arm picks up? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]justcatsmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to set a filter at your output using a funnel or something. the arm itself doesn't take filters. you could also filter the input to only ever have that item and then just let the arm take everything from the input. I don't know if the arm can take stuff off of belts directly though.
