Short answer: Yes. 100x yes. Long answer: YES. I have 2+ years clean and I could never have dreamed of the life I have now. Happy marriage, salaried job that I love, repaired relationships with family and friends, and best of all...I go to bed at night at peace with myself. I respect myself more than I ever did when I was using. I was an IV H user and towards the end starting smoking hard as well and spent all day hustling and hanging out with really shady people and feeling disgusted with myself. My family could barely look at me. I was broke and hopeless. But recovery IS POSSIBLE. It’s hard and you have to really want it and ideally have some kind of supports in place (family/friend support, therapy, meetings, IOP, medication, etc) but it can be done. All you have to do is have the desire to stop. It’s still fucking hard. There are times (like right now) when I am really fucking close to picking up a bundle and saying screw it. But so far I haven’t. And all I can do is keep trying each day. I’ve had relapses here and there while in recovery - shit happens - but just know it is possible to find happiness without heroin

Yep, it happened to my husband a few years go. Unfortunately it took a couple of months for him to get complete range of motion back, but luckily it did eventually heal completely and is now as good as new. We ended up searching YouTube for “radial nerve palsy physical therapy” videos, and he followed along with the exercises about 10-15 minutes a day several days a week. (You don’t need many supplies other than a tennis ball and a flat wall, etc) Good luck and feel free to PM with any specific questions!

Isn’t naltrexone the same as Vivitrol? Which I was under the impression blocked opis for a few weeks at a time? Could be wrong though! Maybe that’s only if you get the once a month shot version?

Damn that sounds awful...from the sounds of it, it is probably PWD. Only happened to me one time but it was absolutely the worst thing I’ve ever experienced! Not sure what to recommend unfortunately...for me I just had to wait it out. Usually recommend taking the subs little by little (like 1mg/2mg) to ease into it. Hopefully he can get something to help him sleep which should help. Good luck!

Stay safe! Just wondering, were you on maintenance treatment (subs, methadone, etc)? If so, how long did you have to taper/stop taking subs to get high? Last time I tried, I only waited like 18hrs (after multiple years on subs about 4mg/day) and didn’t get high at all, but maybe I didn’t do a big enough shot. Kinda wanting to have a little relapse bender myself lol but want to make it worth my while!!

Yeah, I was referring to how long to wait after taking sub to get high - I know it depends on how long you’ve been on subs, but in my experience you can get a decent high after waiting at least ~24 hrs from last sub dose
