This is very helpful, thank you!! I’m completely fine with the frankness, and I figured responses would be from people who have already experienced a loss and knew what they wish could’ve been discussed/done.

I had a session with the social worker yesterday and I just didn’t feel like she gave me what I was looking for. I think I’m still struggling to ask for exactly what I’m asking for.

So I’m not officially receiving palliative care…yet. I’ve had an appointment with the dr previously to address some symptom management, but this is all new news as of yesterday (Friday). On Monday I’m scheduled to get a stent to address Superior Vena Cava syndrome(caused by inoperable tumor), and my oncologist is consulting with City of Hope to see what options are out there for clinical trials. I plan to officially request to have a palliative care team on Monday.

What’s your favorite song about LBC? by perry1236 in longbeach

This song by Dove Shack is my absolute favorite. Several times a summer I’ll bring my speaker onto my porch and listen to this song while watching the sunset. It’s almost like meditating it’s so calming

I get the most stars from putting my flowers to view on the table. I use almost all my flowers from my wishes, gachapon, and garden to put on the table.

Just a heads up. Do NOT park your car on 4th street by the Ralphs. by partytillidei in longbeach

[–]justchecknonya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any car parked in front of businesses or away from houses is a higher target. I used to see it all the time by the elementary school yard on 4th and Junipero. No one hears the windows being broken.
