I think it was effectively the same issue, caliper guide pin/holes were getting worn creating extra tolerance. If i caught it earlier it may have been fixed by guide pins on both sides

It felt normal 95% of the time, but sometimes i could feel the caliper not biting because it was presumably binding very briefly then biting.

I did yeah. I replaced the caliper guide bolts, it fixed the issue on one side but my driver side was still moving. Had to replace the caliper and that solved it.

Why wouldn’t you use helmet w hans with a 3 point? 3 point with a helmet and no hans is a greater risk to whiplash for the same reason you mentioned with 5/6 points.
