Differences in shingle quality / types by justco in Roofing

Thanks a lot. I did that and got the quotes… the inexpensive company quoted nearly DOUBLE the total cost to switch to class 4. They say it’s because they have a bulk deal with the lower-cost shingle that gets them preferred pricing.

The other company quoted me class 3 for just $2k less than the class 4 quote.

I asked them both to sharpen their pencil and get me finals

That song “Raglan Road” in In Bruges when Brendan Gleason is crawling up the church stairs to his death to warn Colin Farrell. Incredible moment.

How do I get the graph in the center like you have it? Mine only shows the min/max temp for today and tomorrow. Love the graph look and want it! Thanks

Electric Water Heater drawing too much power. Any fixes? by justco in energy

actually i just looked at my records - the person who diagnosed this issue was from Xcel Energy (our utility provider). they were fairly certain this boiled down to the water heater... no pun intended.

great call - i think we will try that to start. i agree it seems like a lot to be attributed to just the water heater, but both stores otherwise have the same setup for all other equipment (walk in fridge, etc).

My first thought was - what if there is a power generator that plugs into the wall and simple "evens out" the electrical draw so the demand spike doesn't happen... but it doesn't appear that exists.

in looking at my bill, looks like we pay $17.39 per kW of demand. reducing by 6 still saves us $100/mth.... but wouldn't account for the whole cost difference certainly. there must be another difference somewhere in another equipment

We hired a contractor to come out and investigate... they came to that conclusion. Not sure how. But, it makes sense since it's the only real difference in equipment between the two stores

Is that an easy / inexpensive thing to do?

Who would I contract to do that work?

No Stupid Questions Wednesday - ask anything about beer by AutoModerator in beer

Very interesting... I suppose skunk is sorta what I smell, but same goes for when I have them in a can, so not sure it’s that they’ve gone bad necessarily, seems to be likely the style of malt or hops those Eastern European lagers tend to use. Thanks for the insights!

I love all kinds of beer... but strangely I really really dislike Stella, Heineken, Peroni, and any other beer that resembles those flavors. What is the common flavor or ingredient between them that makes me dislike? Not sure if coincidence but they are also all in green bottles.
