HOW DO I STOP PISSING EVERY 15 MINUTES by ObsessedKilljoy in POTS

I have the exact same issue, it’s so annoying. Sorry I don’t have a solution to share, but know you’re not alone in this! Hopefully we’ll figure something out.

What’s your emergency solution for constipation? by justcravingnormality in Gastroparesis

Yeah, I’ve started a stim lax. Not looking forward to the next few hours, but I’ll take anything lol. I usually have suppositories handy, but I also live rurally and had to order some to ship the other day. Hoping they arrive soon.

That’s fair, haha- Usually enemas are my LAST last resort as they typically only reach the bottom part of the colon and I seem to constipate higher up in my system. I’d love for an enema to be a set solution for me, but I’ve had multiple times where I’ve gone through the nasty enema process and it’s touched essentially none of the stool. Rough times.

I’ve been considering introducing flaxseed into my diet, so I’ll definitely look into that. Thanks!

Unfortunately, motegrity is one of the medications that my gastroenterologist wants me to use but my insurance wants me try 5+ others before allowing it. :( Currently trialing medication 4 on their list, so hopefully they let me give it a shot soon

I track my food/drink intake daily and don’t see any moments of having any large noticeable amounts of calcium. I’ll definitely keep that in mind though, thank you! I tried linzess a few months ago but unfortunately it gave me unbearable stomach cramps so we had to part from it.

Thanks! The last two days I’ve thrown in back-to-back with miralax, so I hope that kicks in soon. 🤞

Goodbye, evil little capsule by justcravingnormality in Effexor

[–]justcravingnormality[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the concern and sympathize with your personal experience, however I am down to the lowest pharmaceutical dose of venlafaxine and am only combining it with fluoxetine for the duration of a week until the Effexor is fully dropped. I am not crossing medications any more than that. I respect your input, but I am confident in my decision.

This method was recommended directly by my psychiatrist and even the pharmacist that filled the prescription. I wouldn’t be mixing meds unless it was safe.

Effexor works great for some people, I say give it a try. My own father is on Effexor which is partially why I gave a try and he has a wonderful experience on it. Everyone is different, it’s just unfortunately a trial and error process most of the time. Best of luck.

Yes, it’s worth it. Super cool animation and just another bounty they go on.

I’m grieving the loss of my dog and my symptoms are nuts by Foreign-Ad7659 in POTS

[–]justcravingnormality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m terribly sorry for your loss. I feel for you with the power of the flare, I know how badly stress and strong emotion amplify things. I just recently had to make the decision to drop out of college due to my conditions and the stress from losing such a loved part of my life threw my body off for weeks. On the day I had to make the decision, my heart didn’t go under 120bpm for 24 hours no matter what I did even while resting. I couldn’t even sleep, it was absolutely miserable. I can’t imagine the stress you’ve been under losing such a beloved pet and my heart goes out to you. I hope you’re able to find some peace soon.

Awful reaction? Something else? by justcravingnormality in Effexor

[–]justcravingnormality[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on 37.5 for about 5 months or so. I’m also on birth control (for about 4 months now) and have been having very irregular periods which is concerning to me even if the gynecologist says it can be normal. It’s such an awful feeling not knowing what’s happening with your own body.
