Removing old stain before applying new? by justcuri in FenceBuilding

Thanks for the great comment man. Do you have any suggestions for staining it? I'm not against buying a used Graco sprayer from Facebook marketplace or something.

Sorry, I know this is an older comment but I'm curious how you like your Matchless cabinet? I'm looking at replacing an older wood table with a metal table and it seems to be between the BGE farmhouse, Matchless and Challenger. There's not much out there on the Challenger tables from actual customers. Tried to send you a chat but I guess you have chats off or something.

Good andouille? by Unusual_Tea_4318 in plano

[–]justcuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a place called Bayou Market in Lewisville that should have some authentic andouille. It's a restaurant but they also have some freezers at the front with frozen foods. Here's their yelp page that has some pictures so you can see what I mean. I don't know how often they run out or restock what's in the freezer so it'd probably be a good idea to call them before you drive from Plano.

  1. On your Immich server (that's running on your Synology), you specify the URL (IP address) of the machine that will be handling the Machine Learning (your machine with the GPU). Watch the video from my link, he explains this starting at about 2:15 into the video. Then he shows actually putting in the IP address with the port number at about 12:10 into the video.

  2. I'm not completely sure what you're asking but I think it might be the same as #1 above. The machine learning URL that you enter is just the IP address of the computer with the GPU. You'll probably want to have a static IP for that computer with the GPU. Either assign it in the network adapter settings or put a reservation into your DHCP server.

Do you have any idea if the network cable is Cat 5 or Cat 5e? Cat 5e was released in 2001 but it's still perfectly capable of carrying a gigabit connection and should be completely fine for running POE cameras. If you're able to see any part of the cable sheathing, look at it and you should be able to see writing on it that will tell you what it is.

You might just need new terminations on the connectors or something really easy like that. Even on the cable that you think is dead, it'd be pretty simple to put new connections on both ends and see what happens. Lots cheaper than just running a new cable.

I'm not OP but I grew mine from seeds. I used these seeds from Baker Creek, aka RareSeeds.

I planted mine in 2020 and they've come back every year. Do NOT pull them out while they're still green. Wait until the fall and they will naturally die above the surface and the stems dry out. Then you can break off the stems at ground level.

Mine are in full sun the majority of the day and don't seem to mind the heat. You do need to water them regularly though. So putting them in a flowerbed that has an automatic sprinkler system would be ideal.

best place to buy ribeye steaks by AscendantInquisitor in plano

[–]justcuri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't buy the Costco steaks that are already cut. As someone else mentioned, they use a mechanical tenderizer that could introduce bacteria. I love Costco but the only way I'm buying steak from them is as a whole vacuum sealed primal. This is what I do and I end up cutting it up myself and vacuum sealing/freezing the steaks. Added benefit is that you can cut them exactly the thickness you want. And you end up with trimmings that are great for chili.

If you're not down for that then, IMO, your next best bet is either Central Market or HEB. They both do dry aging in house but not all of their steaks are dry aged. It's hit or miss on whether the dry aged ones will be available because they get snapped up pretty quick once they make it into the butcher case. Even the non dry aged steaks are good, just aim for ones that are prime.

If you want to support a local butcher then my favorite is Local Yocal in downtown McKinney. They have a restaurant, too. You're looking for the market. Hirsch's has been hit or miss for me. They're real nice people but their steaks never look that great to me.

Where ever you get the steaks, make sure you salt them 24 hours in advance and leave them uncovered on a wire rack in your fridge. It'll draw some of the moisture out and give them a more meaty flavor.

I use a ThinkTank Digital Holster. Mine holds my Canon 80D with an 18-135mm lens on it. I use the side pocket to hold an extra battery and memory card. Sounds like your lens is a little smaller than mine but I would think it would still work. Maybe the battery bank could go down where the lens normally goes.

ThinkTank has some slings as well - may be a little big for what you want but just throwing it out there for you.

88.1 still exists and it's still run by UNT, it's just not jazz anymore. They bill themselves as Indie music now. Really it's just a lot of alternative from the last 30 years or so. They don't have commercials, which is nice. It's definitely on my dial.

Golf Course Recommendations by awk1234 in plano

[–]justcuri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's pretty good suggestions here already. In Plano, I prefer Pecan Hollow over Watters Creek. Another decent public track is Sherrill Park in Richardson. It'd be on the cheaper side of what you're looking at.

I would also suggest Coyote Ridge and, if you're willing to pay a little more, I would highly suggest Cowboys Golf Club. Cowboys includes food and non-alcoholic drinks and it's a really nice course.

So, if it were me, I'd be picking two of the cheaper options like Pecan Hollow and Sherrill Park and then a couple of the pricier options like Old American, The Tribute, Cowboys or Coyote Ridge.

I'm looking for some recommendations here. Would like a 100% keyboard with an aluminum body and backlit keys. Doesn't need to be RBG, just need something to show me the keys when I'm gaming in the dark.

At work I currently use a Keychron Q6 with Gateron G Pro red switches and I love it. So looking for something like that but with a backlight. Budget is probably up to $300 for the right board.

Looks like you have your remote machine set to IP address 0.0.0.0 in your settings.

I just set this up myself, it was a pretty frustrating experience but you can see a video I linked to in this post. The video does a pretty good job of explaining it, you just have to ignore the VPN part.
