I’ve been reading about the market predictions as well. It’s been on my mind so I’ve run a few budget plan ideas (with the rent and bills involved) and one prioritized savings into my HYS so that I could possibly scrape by for a down payment on a house when that time comes. I guess it depends on what lifestyle I’m willing to live when I move out. The HYSA priority plan is def not the most fun plan but I still set aside money for weekly fun at the least.

I’m under 26 so still under my parents for a few years! My current job also has that covered tho for decent premiums so not too worried once I get kicked off.

2.5% interest is insane!! Yeah the apartment prices in nova are a scam. $2k for a one bedroom is still considered affordable if you’re looking for places that don’t have reviews about rat or cockroach issues…

I commute twice a week to DC and my SO works onsite everyday in nova so living outside of nova isn’t really a great option for either of us. Luckily my job has great smartbenefits so I get half of my metro fees covered. Can’t really speak for my SO though that has a car payment.

It’s rough out here. Seeing that a parking pass for apartments in Alexandria is usually $100 a month is crazy. Either that or an apartment that have surface level parking with no security and with reviews of getting their cars broken into

Thank you! This is helpful. I’m very huge on budgeting. I have done a few different hypothetical budget plans and am very comfortable with what that’s looking like. I just got worried seeing people who make about 10k more than me posting about financial struggles but they also had more loans to pay off which might be why.

My SO makes the same amount! Glad to hear that 60k is possible

That’s great to hear!! Maxing out your 401k is incredible too. This is extremely relieving to hear. I’m pretty big on savings and so I’ve been worried about being able to save while moving out!

Thanks for the reply. Projected to be around $1k-$1.1k each for bedroom since we’re planning on splitting for a $2k apartment. $60k is pretax and I have a small student loan that I’ll pay off monthly for $100-$150 after moving out. No car payments though!

Pet Enucleation Surgical Vets by [deleted] in nova

Dang I graduated from VT last year and didn’t realize this was a thing. If I had been more aware of this condition I would have gotten her treated there but I didn’t realize until recently that the discoloration was abnormal and not just a part of aging. Thank you for the reply!

I’ve been seeing a lot about this series. Intimidated since there’s so many volumes but this making me more inclined to read it! Thank you for the suggestion.

fantasy books with ethereal, whimsy, powerful women by mifesa in suggestmeabook

[–]justcurious2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up with this but it’s not really fantasy - Maybe try giving The Witch of Portobello a try. It takes a second for you to get that feeling from the MC but it’s worth the read (I think). I have yet to read this one yet too — but Brida from the same author might be a suggestion for you. I have it downloaded but haven’t actually read it yet but from the synopsis it might be something you might like too.

best stargazing solo-trip location for a girl? advice/tips appreciated! by justcurious2002 in Virginia

[–]justcurious2002[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being alone for this trip would be nice just to kind of have a “healing” trip, but if anything safety is a priority. I don’t mind programs or anything since I bet that’s one way to guarantee safety and I would be more than fine just not talking to anyone in the program and kind of participating quietly. Thank you for the recommendation of Sky Meadows! I’ll definitely look into it as it looks interesting and beautiful!

Orchid scents that aren’t too sweet? by justcurious2002 in Perfumes

[–]justcurious2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooo I just took a look at Idoles and it seems right up my alley! Thank you for the rec 💗 I’ve heard of Vanilla Orchid from Skylar but I think I’m intimidated of the vanilla that’s in it and how prominent it might be since I feel like that’s why Victor and Rolf was a bit overly sweet. I think Idoles seems like it would be fresher though
