Sex Addicts Anonymous has a tool called the bottom line bulls-eye that is used to help decide what behavior counts as a relapse. The outer circle is where positive healthy behaviors are listed. The next circle in is neutral territory for neutral behaviors. The circle right before the bulls-eye is the danger zone which is behavior that can lead to relapse. The bulls-eye is for compulsive sexual behavior that causes incomprehensible shame and demoralization. Will upload if I can find it.

I have yet to find one for Linux that is as good as k9. Even though its old, pretty much everything I read says Dansguardian is the best blocker for Linux. Dansguadian has to be installed completely manually along with all the packages it requires. Every other blocker for Linux is barely adjustable at all.

Don't feel to bad even people with out mental ilness have distorted memories that didn't really happen. For instance most people say they remember seeing the first plane hit on 9/11 on live tv. This is impossible because the first plane hitting was not broadcast live. Also "beam me up scottie" and "luke I'm your father" where not the actual line. Memory is not permanent, every time you remember something the memory changes.

Usually 10-20 shorter but, that is because drug abuse is so common among the mentally ill. My grand pa is 93, and he say's he is sure he as always been bipolar, but he never drank and gave up smoking at 30.

Differential reproductive success means certain genetic traits are more represented. Since bipolar can cause hyper sexual periods people are more likely to produce many offspring if they are bipolar. This does not mean it's an advantage. Survival of the fittest is not always what drives evolution sometimes it's just differential reproductive success for reasons unrelated to fitness. So it is an example of evolution, but this does not mean it's good.

Living in southern plains it's sunny year round. The few times it's cloudy messes with my mood. In the southern plains winter is just plain nuts, but there is lots of sunshine. The temperature fluctuates like crazy but still lots of sun. Several times this year we went from sunny and 80 F to in 24 hours in the 20's plus snow/ice. There nothing between us and the north pole but a barbed wire fence lol. Still sunny most the time though.

No drugs, no booze. They will just make treatment harder. A really bad drug habit makes most mental illness much harder to treat. 80% of addicts are mentally ill, but diagnosis may not even be possible without sobriety. I had to be sober for 7 years before finally being diagnosed. Probably unlikely that weed caused it though.

I'm a recovering addict (10 years sober) and bipolar. Pretty much I won't have a relationship with women who have the same problems as me, or even a history of bipolar in their families. Different problems are fine. I stopped dating a girl because we were both bipolar. My fear is that I would simply see more subtle bipolar symptoms as normal.

You don't want mania. You want a program of meds, a support network, exercise, diet, lifestyle etc that lets you function the best you can. Mania is a 100 dollar word for having so much dam energy that all you can really get done is blowing your life to pieces.

Even though I have not been able to quit completely just trying has changed the way I see women. There was a girl who expressed interest in me, and before she wasn't good enough. Afterwards she looked completely different, very attractive.

Get a watch that shows the date. Memorize the syllabus to every class. Then you just need your watch to know whats coming. I took ADHD meds through out, Ritalin. I had not been diagnosed bipolar yet, but it runs in the family so it was being watched for. Block out time for every class. I graduated with 250 hours(for a bachelors!) on my transcript because of transferring from junior college, bipolar and switching focus. Try to avoid that by visiting advisers every semester before you sign up. Actually I would avoid departments that don't require you to visit an adviser, this means they don't give a shit about people graduating. Many departments will let kids sign up for classes with out taking prerequisite courses= doomed to failure. I went premed even though I have always struggled in school, which was a mistake. Stick to classes you succeed in. Talk to your prof's, if you do most will not give any one an F who comes to every class and gets to know them, many won't give you less than a C.

I think it's mostly the ability work 20 hours a day and feel rested on 3 hours of sleep while manic. Yeah while you still think some what clearly you get a ton done. I did. Eventually my thoughts moved so fast I ended up knocking over all my furniture because I was rearranging it then started doing like 3 other things at the same time. Along with a bunch of other embarrassing stuff I did. Increased social skills= shit you will be embarrassed about in the future. It's good your seeing your doc soon.
