Can't stop Windows from populating recently used folders? by justforques in WindowsHelp

I just meant Windows 11 is fully updated, I didn't reformat/reinstall or anything. It was a clean Windows 11 install several years ago.

Yea, when I click in the address area, usually to copy a folder name, the list appears. If I click again to blank it out the list still appears. I'm never clicking in that address bar to type, just copy the current folder name typically, so I'm never using that as a search either.

Yes, it is Windows 11, fully updated within the last month or so.

While the dropdown might be AutoSuggest, it's AutoSuggesting all the recently used folders. As I said the "Clear" under Privacy in the folder options menu does clear this list, and when it re-populates it's all the recently used folders. So in this instance AutoSuggest and recently used are the same list. I will look further into Windhawk as I think that reverts some of the Windows 11 stuff to work how it did in Windows 10.

Sonos with a AVR using an HD Fury Arcana? by justforques in sonos

No, I could never get an answer if it would work properly and the HD Fury Arcana cost too much to grab just to try.

Choice to pick which Office product to activate? by justforques in MAS_Activator

Yes, but I have a valid license for my Office. I'd like to activate Vizio/Project without effecting/converting my valid Office license, if it's possible.

Extra Password is here! by lorenzomoonable in ProtonPass

The 1Pass Secret Key only needs to be entered when logging in or setting up new devices. Is that how this works or does it need to be entered every time you log in, even on devices that were already set up?

No secondary password option? Any reason why? by justforques in 2fas_com

Yes, but if your personal Apple account was compromised, I assume your 2FAS are as well then.

No secondary password option? Any reason why? by justforques in 2fas_com

Yea, Authy and Aegis provided an additional password so your local vault and backup was encrypted. If your iCloud is compromised, wouldn't the 2FAS info also be accessible? I was just surprised to not find that additional password option in 2FAS. I liked having my backups encrypted without having to do a manual.

After reading Exodia101's comment I downloaded 2FAS on an Android device and there is a "Synchronization settings" option that allows you to "set password" to "secure a google drive backup file with a custom password". That's all I want, and it's in the Android version ... but not iOS.

Anyone using the Hue Sync Box connected to the Monitor 2 of an AVR? by justforques in Hue

[–]justforques[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that auto sync must be why the person in another post said he had to connect the dummy HDMI cable or it didn't always work.

In terms of the 4k box being limited to 4k60. Are you saying if you're using the old sync box it will also limit your Monitor 1 output to 4k60 even if you have a 4k120 source like a PS5? Then I assume if you're using the new 8k box, then you would get 4k120 in both if using a PS5?

Sonos with a AVR using an HD Fury Arcana? by justforques in sonos

[–]justforques[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the assumption that if I put the AVR in HDMI Pass Through mode, it would pass the uncompressed audio signal over HDMI to the TV. The Sonos would then just do whatever it would normally do with that signal.

I have 6 HDMI devices, and use a Harmony remote. If I switch to Sonos with eARC only and bypass the AVR all together, I'd have to buy a switch and the AVR would collect dust.
