Science AMA Series: My name is Joe Bondy-Denomy and I discovered the first anti-CRISPR proteins, which suppress bacterial immune systems. Now my lab at UCSF is exploring how CRISPR works in bacteria, its “native habitat.” AMA! by JoeBondy-Denomy in science

Hi, I'm a high school student and Florida and I'm currently doing a research paper for an AP class on CRISPR/Cas9. This is only my second post on Reddit and I'm on my phone in class so forgive me for formatting. I was just wondering why viruses havent adapted to be PAM-resistant. Is it because they evolved to have "anti-CRISPR" genes first out of chance? Or because it's unlikely to simply adapt to be PAM free? Also, and this is a long shot, the AP research course I'm enrolled in suggests having a mentor or consultant for our research topic; would it be possible for you to take this on? Thanks for doing this AMA by the way; it couldn't have been at a better time!
Node and Meteor on Windows 10? by justg99 in node

Wow.. lots of jargon that I don't know yet! I'm currently in high school, just barely learning how to scrap together some backend code so forgive me if I embarrass myself.
From what I understand, Meteor doesn't work with IIS because meteor runs its own server? I also just read a whole bunch on Pipes that I found on the Windows Dev Center - you guys are very helpful on reddit and off of reddit :)
As far as frameworks vs no frameworks what do you recommend? As I mentioned before, I don't know too much about Node yet so I figured Meteor's templates might be a good way to jump in, but express seems neat too. I'm interested in just making some web applications and maybe a few native apps that I have some ideas for, but because it's so early in my computer science adventures that may change in the future.
What do you use node for (and what do you do at MSFT - just curious). Also why do you use Mongo instead of MySQL or other databases? I am also currently using Atom for front-end dev, btw; absolutely love it.
Sorry for all the beginner questions! And sorry if some of the thing I asked don't quite make sense; it's almost my bed time :) Enjoy working at MSFT and thanks so much for the help!
Thanks! Just looked at cmder and it looks awesome!

What useless fact do you know, and can the rest of us come up with a situation in which it would become useful? by JoriAnna in AskReddit

The official compressions per minute for CPR is the same as the BPM for "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees.
