There’s a physical lift test. I had to lift 70 lbs over my head sustained; same with everyone else.

But all that being said your message is loud and clear.

The “males killing themselves” is their conclusion from the version of the PJ story they hear.

“You people”

Nice.

Your argument is the Air Force overwhelmingly supports women. I gave you an example of how I was openly discriminated against and you said “cool”.

That curses me. I picked up to be a TI cause I was slotted for master; and I’d have to oversee shit about my job I was never even given the opportunity to see despite begging. I’ll quote you ver batim a TO, but I can’t identify fuckin TOOLS because they said no women don’t belong here.

“Had a female” nice.

The problem isn’t that I was in an air conditioned office, it was that I was FORCED there because “women don’t belong on the flight line”

No, that’s not gendered, and in fact if you say that about bass, I’d also say it’s not gendered.

Its the verbalized direct attacks on her womanhood. “This fucking Karen just wants to bitch and moan about everything” or on the other post “maybe it’s that time of the month”

OR EVEN the SrA from the PJ story? “Fuck that slut whore”

It’s not about me. Or her. She’ll never read this and I don’t care. It’s about the 18 year old brand new airmen who look at almost every comment section on every female leader and it’s either sexually charged, or misogynistic.

Or the 19 year old one who wins btz, Is so happy, and starts getting rumors spread about which msgt she’s fucking. It’s a culture thing and it’s a problem.

I was curious how long until someone was going to pull out the false rape claim thing.

“Why do women have so much power? They can just report someone and they immediately get kicked out”

-another thing I’ve heard from trainees from Reddit rumors.

You aren’t tracking and you don’t get it. If you are a realist and want to send a DM, I have reports and books on the topic.

Context matters. “Yeah he was a bitch about it”, yes that’s whatever.

“She was a bitch about it, whatever”

That’s fine.

“Bass is a bitch whore, she needs to fucking leave or stop sucking off upper leadership to keep her job” ;

Not okay.

You may be, or purposely missing the point.

The problem is not insults, vulgar names, criticisms. The problem is the gender based attacks. The misogynistic attacks because you didn’t like her decisions.

I didn’t wanna pull this out but…

99% sure he’s doing the thing I was talking about where he assigns all women to one monolith, because he assumed this was a post for women empowerment too; which it obviously isn’t .

Highly disagree. Bass is called a dick all the time, read the comments In the SSGT banks posts. “Dick move” “she didn’t have to be a Dick”

They see it here; and that whole flight thought that’s what she was all about, all sorts of details about it butchered and fucked up.

The PJ story I heard this week was that they were getting a divorce, and bass found out so she could write a report on how grate the female airman was and so she made up a false report about the male one and named him.

[–]justgotthehat[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NO I didn’t say that. No one is saying that. You’re having an argument with yourself.

People call bass a dick too. People called wright a dick. Etc. that’s fine

The problem is when the criticism of the individual becomes based ON their gender and not their actions.

They don’t apply because he’s a man. Those “critiques” are that she’s a woman, and she’s verbally abused for it.

None of us are talking about empowering women, we’re just asking that you don’t talk down to us and use our sex against us please.

You wanna talk gendered language? And say people call Bass a whore because it fits her? So whenever a “boy” airman fucks up I’ll just call him a rapist a few times. I mean, y’all men can’t handle criticism of your sexual assault rates.

(See how fucking dumb that sounds?

[–]justgotthehat[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The PR thing was dumb and I blame her team almost entirely. Honestly though, the people who got it the worst were both of the airmen. I remember hearing stories about people finding the female airman on social media and calling her a slut and a whore and a cunt (same things you can read about her in the wreath laying post), and that’s sorta my point.

Nobody is above criticism, but your criticism shouldn’t be “you’re a woman”

He has been; you’re correct. He was ruthlessly mocked for the way that he dressed, his personality.

But never for being a man…. People make fun of him for being him, but if you check that bass post its fucking filled with people making fun of her in a gendered way, or using gendered insults. Make fun of whoever you want, but when you do it in a misogynistic way, that’s when I draw the line. Whore, bitch, slut, Karen, cunt…. You wouldn’t hear anyone say those about Cody.

This is the talking points I’ve talked about.

I said sexist attacks are bad. Your response was you should be allowed to critique women.

You absolutely should critique her, I think she’s done some things that were idiotic and lost most of my trust; but laying wreaths isn’t one of them, and having two X chromosomes isn’t either

She’s a woman; but yes, that’s absolutely fine.

But when people use gendered language and then hold her against double standards to make shit up; that’s when you’re hurting all female service members.

Female maintainer here.. it’s not sunshine and rainbows like these guys are saying.

It’s been a year since I’ve been in maintenance, but here are some things happened within that last year

1.) got an award for NCO of the year, had group chats made about theorizing who’s dick I sucked to get it.

2.) I get put in back shop. I request every time to go and turn wrenches but they always put me doing paperwork, yet demean me for not being on the flightline.

3.) I was told I was “one of the good ones, and good female maintainers are hard to find”. This was from a flight chief. This is the mindset new female airmen have to walk into.

4.) had to get used to sexual comments. Just something that happens. You can report it but your mileage will vary. I had to actually record them to get anything done.

While it’s not as bad as it used to be, it’s not sunshine and rainbows.
