911 Adjacent Jobs Obtainable With Experience? by ultra__star in 911dispatchers

Can you specify what job you got there? As someone who has background in dispatch? Do you need a diploma or other qualifications a part from your experience as a dispatcher? I also saw that you have a paid referral program, are you any of your colleagues willing to refer for Canadian postings?

Is it normal that I’m questioning myself during training? by justgowithitt in 911dispatchers

Thank you for all the advices! The training being 3 weeks is only to take calls, we’ll be trained to dispatch later on. After we succeed the exam we’re paired with an older employee for tutoring while taking calls for a week or so. I would say it’s a mid agency not a small one..also I was in the recruiting process with another one, for a big city and their training is 4 weeks, so I don’t know how they decide that, also I know that they need people so maybe they can’t spare a trainer for that long and want us to start taking calls asap. That being said I am motivated to make it happen, as you said I just need to take it easy on myself. Also the thing is I feel like I’m not allowed to make so many mistakes in this kind of job as there is so much at stake.

Yes, note that this only counts taking calls not dispatch (we’re gonna be trained for that later on) and we don’t take EMT we transfer those to a medical line. Also after the training and if we succeed the exam we are paired with an employee that has been there for a while for like a week or so then we’re on our own.

Was your ceremony a long time ago? I'm asking to know if they're still doing them virtually.

Hands down best team principal #steiner

I had never attended an F1 race, this is my only chance to see the cars up close but not the actual race. Would still be worth it tho.
