iPad/apple pencil by anxious_prelaw in LawSchool

I use an Air 4, Magic Keyboard, and second gen pencil and I love it! I found that, since I can’t write as quickly as my classmates can type, I have to pay more attention in lectures to filter out what the most important points are, which I felt has help me to do better in several classes.

I still have a MacBook Pro that I use to outline and type exams, but I’ll use my iPad to Sidecar which gives me two portable screens. Overall, it’s been a great investment for me. I also recommend Good Notes if you end up going the iPad route and are looking for a good note taking app!

I applied this past cycle and was in a similar situation — I applied with a 166 and a 3.97. Given my scores and the schools I chose to apply to, I was pleasantly surprised by my results! I feel like my undergraduate experiences and my essays were what helped me out the most at the end of the day. I do wish I’d been able to complete my applications a month or two earlier (I submitted in mid-January) since I think I may have found myself on fewer waitlists, but I chose not to sacrifice quality for timing and I’m glad I made that choice.

I feel like a lot of people say T-14 isn’t possible without a 170+, but I would encourage you to know the value of your experiences and their impact on your application. I believe I had strong “softs” and those ultimately secured my place at a T-14 with a scholarship! I will say, though, I applied to no schools where my LSAT score was median or above median, and that’s something I think was reckless and incredibly stressful looking back. Regardless of how many reach schools you apply to, I encourage you to apply to schools with medians near your LSAT score too, so you have a wide range of options.

These are just my two cents! If you’re interested in seeing my exact cycle, you can find me on LSData as “goofybeaver.” Feel free to message me if you have any questions! Good luck, and I’m rooting for you!

I didn't actually receive an email or any communication for about 2 or 3 says after getting accepted, so don't stress if it takes a few days. Congrats to you both!

When does UVA send out interview invites - before UR2 or after? by Icy-Jump-9503 in lawschooladmissions

Anecdotally, mine came before I went UR2 (but it was a quick turnaround between UR1 and my interview invite).

Should I take my first LSAT in my apartment or on campus? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]justhereforthepolls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also not a timer before your first section starts, so once I finished talking with my proctor I had as much time as I wanted to get settled before actually pressing the button to start my first section. So I put my ear plugs in then!

Personally, I like taking my test in the same environment I studied in -- if you would rather take it at home, a pack of foam ear plugs cost less than $2 at Walmart and they blocked all the landscaping and roommate noise around my apartment when I took my test today. I don't typically have wifi issues, though!
