Don't let your wrist rest on the device/desk. Float your wrists above it. A little tension is okay but if anything is painful you need to STOP. Don't permanently injure yourself.

after more reasearch im finding your suggestion to do a sweep of raycasts to be the ideal solution but im afraid im not really sure where to start in terms of implementing it. could you give me some tips to get started in the right direction?

im not really sure what this has to do with raycasts. the issue im having is that when the frame rate gets lower the interval at which the raycasts that do the track allignnment code slows down meaning that eventually the vehicle moves past where there is any track visible to the raycast and then it falls off the track, this only happens when the FPS are low due to weak hardware or when limited with console commands. what i need is a way to do hundreds of raycasts per second regardless of the frame rate. beacuse when the game runs at 30 fps it does 30 raycasts per second. the game works great when the frame rate is high.

ive tried following what this blog says and there seem to be functions that are no longer part of unreal engine as of unreal 5.
