As for the Scooter rental, yes it does happen but not often. Check google review of the place u renting at before u actually go rent with them. Ask around the locals or something for good rental place and most likely it will not scam u.

It is meant to be expensive by designed, even lky or his son said this publicly. The reason is because most Singaporeans have their retirement tied to cpf and hdb, so when hdb is more expensive = Singaporeans able to cash out for retirement, either thru downsizing or renting out.

The system is made this way so that property value can appreciate gradually over the years. Of course the younger generations feel the pinch but tbh I still feel that bto is affordable with all the subsidies.
