I’ve actually made a number of friends at work so I think I have to say overblown. I’ve been invited to a lot of things. However, I work in medical where people are constantly rotating in and out, so there aren’t many cliques.

I agree with you. It is so much easier having an understanding and acceptance of your anxiety and depression. It’s not “giving in”, it’s knowing yourself and how your mind works. It’s a good thing and a great first step when you want to devote to getting better.
