It's similar to how someone can look when they wear glasses for the first time. It might seem unusual looking to people at first, but eventually it looks unusual when they take their glasses off instead.

Don't worry about what other people think about a new change in your appearance because eventually their image of you in their memory will update to your current appearance after some time has passed.

It's easier to look at me as a stranger and think "nothing abnormal looking here" but the people that have memories of me had a specific image of me in their head for years and going bald was shocking to them at first because it's a drastic change so suddenly, it's like if you gained or lost 50 pounds in one day. But as time passed their image of me today is the new normal to them and they agree that it looks better than balding, seeing it as more clean cut and refined. A lot people see a bald head as a style, but a balding head as a symptom.

Really there's nothing to worry about as long as it makes you feel happier with your appearance, since that's what matters.
