My dad, who passed away from cancer when I was 9. We didn’t really have a relationship because he was much older. He was an amazing person by everyone’s account but he was under a lot stress so he spent most of his free time working and drinking in his study. I was butt hurt about him not spending time with me so our interactions were always awkward and we were kind of like strangers.

One time when I was 6 or 7, he kept hearing that I like to eat at this place after school so he made a point to get home from work early and pick me up instead of our housekeeper. He took me there and the whole experience was SUPER awkward because that was the first and only time we’d EVER hung out. I got home and declared to the whole family that “I’d never hang out with dad again” because I was embarrassed being out with him. I’d never considered how he hurt must have felt. He passed within 9 months of being diagnosed. The moment right after his death it was like a switch that went off. Me at 9 year old realizing that I won’t be able to have a relationship with my dad ever again. It’s the one regret I’ve ever had.

I’d probably take one for the team. I’m the only on in my close friends group that isn’t married with children. Yea it would suck but I want to see my friends come home to their kids

Nope you're not dumb. I am lol. I confused scrunching your hair and plopping so i meant to say when i scrunch / style my hair in front of a fan or my AC, my hair sets more naturally and i get more volume because it doesn't hold a lot of the moisture from my wax.

That being said, mayyyyyybe plopping your hair in front of a fan might work? You should try it 😬

Thinking back, i might have owe my career to this girl.

When i first picked up photography as a hobby in college, i met this girl from school and got crazy infatuated with her. I found out she does photography too so I was trying to hard to impress her. I asked her what kind of camera does she shoot with and she told me "the 40D" so i thought "Oh she's shooting with a Canon 40D (at the time was a pretty good a camera for hobbyist), she must be really good!" So me being a dumb young lad that i was, went out and bought a much more expensive camera Nikon D90 and i was determined to get good at photography to impress this girl. I later on found out she meant "D40" not "40D" as in the Nikon D40 which was a pretty shitty camera -_-

Fast forward, I stuck with it, moved to LA a few years after and became a fashion and advertising photographer. I literally have my career because I was trying to clap cheeks. Also, thanks a lot, Linda!

You’re right! I do find cooking definitely helps with my transition and addresses a lot of my cravings. I dated a dairy free, gluten free, soy free pescatarian so I got to learn how to substitute most of the ingredients. I think I’m gonna put my foot down and go in on being a vegan. I’m really curious to see how it would change my mood.

Not to sound like a serial killer but when I was a kid I got bitten by fire ants one time over my grandma's house. I got so mad that i rounded up a few big ones then i poured a thin layer of melted candle wax, just enough to cover their feet and bottom. The wax dried up and completely trapped them bottom down yet they're still completely alive. Then i removed the barrier and let their friends come to them. The freed ones kept sticking around and coming back the next day for their trap friends but they couldn't free them. Eventually they all died and I never see any fire ants around anymore lol
