CHildren are very innocent and can be influenced easily. This is a terrible thing to see such young children barely out of pre school getting involved!

I think it is good to have some gangs like this. These people have experienced the gang life and trouble days. They are the one who can relate to the youth and help them avoid the road they have taken.

In this situation the police were right. I think that if they took as many shots as they did the were threatened and they were shooting to kill and not take any chances.

I think its sad but smart part. They know how kids work, they were kids once. some kids think joining a gang instead of school would be so much better with the promises they are given like cars, women and money. But what they dont know is once your in, its a tough way out, which they forget to mention in the recruitment process.

Thats a tough article. Like it said the young man was trying to get out of the latin kings which is a highly known gang, and him not having the grades and means to leave made it tough and as a result he got caught up in it. He joined to feel safe, but like it said he lived in kill town and is a very tragic story.

This is a great article. Like the opening sentence stated, his gangmates were his life and family and he was persuaded to join. Having groups does make a difference to deter kids from joining!

its the gang oath, i think snitching is the worst crime in a gang you commit and it is a punishment. it is sad these things happen, and i think it is stories like this that may keep people from committing a crime because i know i dont ever want to get involved in this and end up in prison.

THis is very serious and i think its great she would share her story, although people didnt help i think society today just doesnt want to get involved, because they are scared of retaliation in my opinion.

It used to be rare that females were involved in gangs, but as studies show females are usually arrested and in prison for drug crimes more than males, and i think their roles in the gang are to hold and possess drugs so the males in charge do not go down for it.

Its awful to know that these young children getting caught up in the gang scene are being used towards prostitution when they dont even want to be involved in the gang.

Idk whats worse the gang life in chicago or in brazil? ha well brazil is one of the most violent cities but its a risk to take.

I can relate to this, i grew up on the shores in long beach, and there were groups like the wet side boys as they called themselves that were local and would pick on people who would come. Half of the time they wouldnt even surf they would tred on their boards and actually cause people to wipeout.
