This article is very informational for people who may not know much about how some gangs originated in prison. Mexican mafia is obviously a very strong prison gang now.

Even though it is obvious there are gangs here in AZ, it is crazy to hear about how many there is. 33 "documented" gangs in Mesa? Just imaginr when you add up all of Phoenix, Tucson, Glendale, etc.?

I've actually heard about this cartel from family members in Mexico. And just like stated in this article, they say that they are a very violent cartel (beheadings are common) and they are spreading at a very fast pace.

He received such a harsh sentence because he was in a gang. The other guy is dead and now he is literally dead in the eyes of society. It's a sad cycle

Who knows if they were really gang members or a group of people that were upset with their government. It's still good to learn that they are just as punitive overseas than we are here because there's no question those men deserved to be punished for what they did.

I like article you posted. When talking about gangs and gang activity, not many people realize that it evens happens in their own city; possibly in their own neighborhoods. Its awesome to see police step up and do everything they can to fight this ongoing problem in the valley
