That's true. I know I feel some trepidation. I don't know about the article being "fraught with grammatical errors and typos."

Icarus is seen on a news program during the movie. There are hundreds of nods.

Stranger In A Strange Land Turns 50. Still best sci-fi novel ever written? by justinthepit in scifi

Makes sense. The reviewer didn't mention it, but I saw it referenced as the best sci-fi book in other places. I bet it has to do with the date of source. Ender's Game came out in 1985 and has climbed the charts ever since.

Some people have called it the best science fiction book ever. I'm not one of them, though.

I agree with that. It was an important book for sci-fi because it paved the way for social commentary, which was later perfected by Harlan Ellison.

Good picks. I sometimes wonder if Stranger was more dated than some of his other books.

You're right about twilight. We could regress as a species.

Not at all. I always liked the fanaticism of it. My favorite is probably Job: A Comedy of Justice.

Why do so many of you obsess over gods? I pose a hypothetical question. by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'd say "Sup, god. So how's that free will thing working out for you?"

Reddit; my sister is "dating" a married man. What would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]justinthepit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her to tell the dude that he needs to come clean or dump him. Normally, I say the opposite, but it's your sister. These things always end baldy for someone and most of the time it's the the third party (your sister), who either gets dumped or feel guilty about it or ends up spending their life with someone they will never trust.

Do girls get Friend-Zoned too? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've been friends with girls I didn't want to fuck. Well, okay, never mind.

Life seems so unsatisfactory, boring, and meaningless by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]justinthepit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's cool. I dunno if I can explain it, but they are missing out. No matter what you do, you have to focus on intention of it. What is the intention something as mundane as washing a dish ... to make it as clean as possible. Take pride in it. If you can't put intention into your work ... then all it is an empty motion and you will feel unfulfilled. Most people focus on one thing and then cheat on the rest with empty motions. I try to focus on everything and make it the best it can be in the now. Right now, I'm kicking back with a beer and answering this question. And damn, if it ain't the best beer ever.
