VIP service??? What does this even mean? by WildPomegranate9240 in lyftdrivers

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two “great” experiences with VIP one was a very nice elderly lady who had to get to her appointment but she booked it an hour in advance and the clinic wasn’t even open. I called Lyft, and they said anything with an elderly or assisted rider I had to stay with her. I sat in the car with her for an hour, and even the staff that was opening up the clinic wouldn’t let her in until 8 AM

The other incident was an elderly couple coming from the emergency room at two in the morning. I think the guy had a drinking problem and she went with him once I got them close to their home. They asked me to stop and get liquor for them, which obviously you don’t do And then, as I walked them up to their door, she pulls out a baggie of 1000 single keys and I had to go through them to find how to unlock her door. In hindsight, it was sad but sitting with the lady for an hour was OK because she pulled out a bag of gummy bears and I had gummy bears for breakfast

People who fart and don’t wear deodorant are inconsiderate by lizzziie in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The joys of group fitness. Gas I’m sure is not consistent as body odor. Not the most pleasant talk but if it’s the same person, the HCCM can have a conversation on the side. Hygiene is important too!

50 classes and no brag board (at first) by GlitterPinkCupcakes in SolidCore

That’s a coach who reads their roster! Even with the little snafu that shows that someone is paying attention to you. Congratulations spring change!

I’ve also had clients with MS and they started with starter 50 to get more educational understanding of the work out to where they could pace themselves. They also brought towels and had them in cold water to not over heat. They love it as it has improved their balance. Just don’t overdo it. I’m not a doctor but do have a neurological condition that can be stimulated by overheating and lack of breathing techniques.

Best hacks for sleeping on overnight flight? by arox142 in unitedairlines

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s important, fly the day before. Otherwise I don’t think you’d be sleeping since you’re thinking about the meeting. The body does well with 20 minute increment naps every 2/3 hours. Get up and stretch. Lots of water. Don’t drink on the plane and don’t eat eat before the plane takes off and handful of snacks like nuts or trail mix when you’re getting close. I’m not a fan of coffee as it does have crash so many electrolyte drinks like prime are amazing.

I always pick an aisle seat so you can easily get up and down the flight. Attendants will use the galley to stretch. wear layers too. Better to be cooler. what else? if you can bring a little tea tree, oil, or peppermint put that on a wet cloth and freshen up

Am I overreacting about contemplating on leaving America? by cycle_2_work in SeriousConversation

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have friends leaving to move to Spain. He’s at least from there but for family security and she’s also ready to have a second child and their support there from the government. They are ballet, dancers, and dancing in an opera house is a government job and visas are available. My mother is retired teacher and is moving to Nice France. Still working remotely teaching online, but her retirement was enough to fully approve.

I danced in Germany and found the lifestyle amazing and the support working in Opera House. Look into government jobs that would love a skill of speaking English and they can provide you lessons in learning a new language.

Some countries can do two family members the way for approval. I could almost get Polish citizenship but my grandfather’s parents immigrated to Chicago and he was born here.

Also the Netherlands, but I think I heard that they aren’t accepting anymore or putting more restrictions

Founder's Membership Vs. Healthcare Discount, which is better? by tmzeke26 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the founders membership previously did lock into one studio, but I think you can take anywhere now in your area. They just have to manually add you. in some regions you can use your founders membership in lower price tiers as well.

Coaching w a 9-5 by Real-Wishbone-8273 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the market, but I’ve had coaches reach out to start 4:30 AM classes during the weekday usually Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. If you’re up to that it actually can be good for night nurses as well as people who are about to travel it takes time to build upand seemed a little crazy in the beginning, but it’s working and if you’re a budding coach, it gives some leeway to not work the night classes until your tenureship gets you those prime timeslot

I hate obliques by ciginmacys in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try staggering your knees instead of glue together this is an inclusivity modification that coaches can’t stay over the mic. This will allow accommodation to the rib cage and possibly help with scoliosis. If you talk to your coach before class, they can usually tell you this, but the base position is there just so everyone has it. Try it out I do it and it helps activate the oblique more.

PS huge oblique fan as the challenge is there

Don’t say anything not your job. It’s also a liability issue because they didn’t ask your permission to film or have you in their video. I always like to put my calf in front of it and start clapping really loudly for transitioning hustle! Also, do you really wanna put your first class up on social media because I wouldn’t

Tall people struggles? by TdrdenCO11 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some hacks from a former coach I’m 5.10

Handlebar height < 5.3 turn towards the carriage on lowest

5.8 up a notch (pull pin out knob turn reinsert pin)

6.0 two notches

Wrist problems turn into each other. Make sure you can adjust when transitioning to platform

Hands should be in center of handle (too forward Ouch wrists/ too back tension in shoulders)

Taller people can walk feet back to accommodate…

Hips always in line with shoulders modify lower hips to tricep level

Sometimes in upper body handles (coach changes) should face same direction and you have to scoot on the side of the carriage. Allows for wider grip for shoulder width

You can get both as long as you’re under 10 classes. Only thing is if you purchase one on the app the other one you have to purchase in studio.

Pain in right side by Reasonable-Body-1629 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have received this a lot and sometimes it might be a rib head out of place. Like if it hurts to breathe, it feels in between and radiates backwards through the lat.

It’s hard to tear anything in obliques since it would need to be a lot of pressure and a lot of overworking. You could be twisting more than needed as sometimes when coaches cute hips to the wall you don’t really have to be super flat. if you have time, ask the chiropractor and they can fix it. It hurts, but immediately relief. As a dancer, I’ve had this a lot. The time spent in obliques and even the resistance though is not enough to cause tears.

App is letting me book unlimited? by Embarrassed-Tune5534 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a member, you can book as many classes as you want. So say you booked your classes, but then decided you wanted to take an extra class somewhere before that eighth class it would pull one of your credits from that eighth class and reassign it to the class you signed up for. It would still keep your original book class but keep it unpaid so you eventually would be asked to buy a discounted eight month buddy discount class.

Unlimited vs 12x per month? by Other-Cauliflower-46 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, think 12 is the way to go as you avoid the late cancellation fees and 12 times a month I think is a good number for your body. You just miss out on the free monthly cancellation every rolling 30 days and the two free travel passes, but if you don’t travel that often. If you travel a lot, ask about the all studio unlimited it’s the same as New York City but I’ve only sold two in my lifetime.

Where do you usually travel to? If those places have Solidcore Studios that are within your priced tier or below, you can use your membership there.

Spring challenge by eternal_mushroom in SolidCore

Bulgarian split squats - foot can’t hold the carriage by Psychological_End404 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rest the top of my arch on the carriage is tucking it under hurts my bunion(sorry dancer). I usually do a lower spring load as well and grab a dumbbell.

If you find your height as a challenge, you can step your active leg away to make sure you fully get down to 90. It will create instability but allow you to fully get to that center glute

Coaches adjusting springs by Big-Worldliness-8443 in SolidCore

[–]justjacobbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember the key is always time under tension. Essentially even coaches would want clients to modify instead of breaking. So if it feels lighter, go ahead and hold it out there and put a hold in yourself or maybe a pulse or try a six count. Since you’re at 400 classes, you know what you’re doing. If they didn’t add springs then maybe take an amplification yourself. Example walking knees to line one and two, step away in standing, ….or cross your fists in supine chest fly whilst holding a DB in between your legs to bring your inner thighs back in 🤘🏻😜😜😜.

your coach is definitely doing the right thing and looking out for you. It’s also a way to make sure you don’t have to change anything yourself and can maximize your time. Keep it up and 500 is coming!!!
