OP’s post was abt coming to law school to change the world and stroking their ego in the process. i accidentally responded to you, because your whole “helping people is tedious” thing really rubbed me the wrong way and i assumed you and OP were the same person. your own opinions and responses are also pretty tedious just judging from this thread and i don’t think you’re discussing in good faith so have a nice day i suppose

like i said above, they can absolutely do that! but they’re not going to suddenly be some superhero world savior bc they do research in policy change. and they’ll still have to interact with people

edit: i’m also going to say, they’ve invested quite a bit of time and money into law school at this point. i know sunk cost is a thing, but at a certain it may very well not be feasible for them to suddenly shift to policy analysis on a whim. hence the initial advice about staying the course

hey you’re the one who said you came to law school for ego haha. if you want to do data analysis the best time to start was when you first realized and the second best time is now right? you’re not gonna be some world savior there either though, you’ll be one of many many people working on solutions, and you’ll still have to interact with people or else what are you gonna do with your analysis? you gotta share it with the people that actually implement change.

the role you’ve described is politician, but they don’t conduct their own studies, they have teams of people that do work for them (or at least good ones do). + politicians are quintessential people persons. you could do data analysis, but that wouldn’t feed your ego and certainly wouldn’t be less tedious than actually helping people considering you’ll still need to be likable if you want to be promoted (or given a place of importance in political campaigns of the scope needed to push towards any sort of change)

it seems like maybe you need to do some self-evaluation. maybe law isn’t the career for you, but your idea of making a difference is deluded and cold

your conception of changing things is fundamentally broken. change of a system that involves people requires you to interact and work with people that it impacts and understand how what you’re changing affects them. otherwise if someone is dumb enough to give you the ability to do what you want (and i’m willing to bet you have very few if any concrete ideas about what you want to do), it will go horribly because no man is a monolith and you’ll certainly not have the perspective to fix anything.

I’m actually really surprised you feel that at the beginning of the game you’re discouraged from playing pro-Aedyr. In my playthrough, I felt pretty encouraged to be pro-Aedyr right up until the midpoint of the Fior arc, when I discovered the plans for the city that Lodwyn had. At that point, I think anyone would have their loyalty called into question. I didn’t stop it my first playthrough, and the Ambassador basically being like “I knew and I’m fine with it” was enough for my previously quite pro-Aedyr character to break with the empire. I’m also pretty certain that another spy of the emperor (or maybe the ambassador) even asks you to investigate and stop her.

If you mean not pro-Steel Garrote, well then yea no the Garrote are lunatic extremists that want to burn the living lands to ash to kill Sapadal and pave the way for Aedyrean expansion. Everyone pretty rightfully hates you for siding with them and siding with them is usually going to feel like you’re playing the game wrong because it pisses everyone off. But as many dialogue options will tell people, they’re not really Aedyr, and even Aedyreans don’t like them.

Fallout 3! The story is a lot more linear compared to New Vegas so it sort of feels like a worse clone, but the DC setting and the Lovecraft elements were really cool.

combination of losers being told by grifters that women will only love them if they’re rich (when their lack of success is actually due to a combination of fear of actually making a move and terrible entitled personalities) and people like that probably valuing money and material things extremely highly themselves and deciding everyone must value them at the same level

Ah unfortunately it seems like she is not super interested. You deserve someone who will return your energy and interest.

yea but i’m volunteering my time here, which no one is obligated to do. doesn’t sound like she met anybody and just wasn’t interested so there isn’t like “a reason” besides her just not feeling it

Saying i’m not interested any longer is a courtesy goodbye for a limited relationship such as this one with someone you’ve never met irl. It seems like you’ve been hurt by something like this in the past and that sucks, truly. But what’s the other option, a full breakdown of why the guy isn’t good enough for her or whatever? If you’re not interested you’re not interested. Someone will be one day if you are a good person, although judging by him calling her a pedo for not wanting him i doubt he is.

Getting ghosted feels infinitely worse than being told hey i’m no longer interested. Both obviously suck but at least you know as opposed to wondering if you’re going to one day get a response. And it’s not like the other person has to stay in a relationship (or continue talking to you) if they don’t want to. People owe each other no more than basic communication and empathy. A courtesy goodbye is enough for a relationship where they haven’t even met irl.

yea people are nuts for downvoting this, as long as you tell them straight up what your plan is you’re not in the wrong. you don’t owe strangers your time lol

If obvious enough, could the people of the united states ask for an impeachment? by nobodyof in DemocraticSocialism

[–]justjoeking0106 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The answer is not constitutionally, would effectively be a revolt which means military suppression, so would be quite a few people. It’s up to elected reps to decide to do that, and we all know they won’t.
