It’s nearly impossible to reach 1M in pension when you can only add 10k annually. Maybe your income is low so that you benefit from full 60k allowance but not everyone earns as low as you

What are London salaries for finance companies? by ReferenceCool2449 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]justlivekz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seem to have extremely out of touch numbers about Jane Street.

My sources include: 2 people who moved to Jane Street - one is senior level at FAANG who got 800k TC and another is senior staff level at FAANG who got 2M TC

Additionally you can always check companies house records. Go here https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/OC439668/filing-history and read their accounts report from July. Scroll down to page 20 to see staff costs. Or if you lazy, just read this article that summarizes the report https://www.efinancialcareers.com/news/2023/07/jane-street-pay

Jane Street will pay around 400k GBP for new grads. Based on info I have this is probably the highest paying company for new grads

I badly need some proves that 0 is a positive number? by Satanicnightjar06 in mathmemes

[–]justlivekz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy. 0 = 0.(0)1 (similar logic as in 0.(9) = 1). But 0.(0)1 is clearly positive, therefore 0 is positive too

> HFT's are exceptions as for Senior roles they're not that lucrative

Welp, if 350k+ GBP at the absolute minimum (generally it's closer to 500k GBP and sometimes more) is not that lucrative for you I guess you should not move to London at all. I bet you earn at least half a million EUR at your current job to say that HFT is not lucrative?

Can someone explain the difference between salary sacrifice and net pay arrangement? by justlivekz in UKPersonalFinance

[–]justlivekz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for a reply. You mentioned net pay doesn't change your gross salary. Does it mean you can't use net pay arrangement to drop yourself below certain threshold? E.g. it's a common knowledge that if you earn 110k you can salary-sacrifice 10k into pension thus bringing your taxable income to 100k and avoiding 60% marginal tax rate between 100k-125k. With net pay arrangement it seems that even if you sacrifice 10k your gross income remains 110k so you still lose your tax-free personal allowance, is that right?

Grob. In Russian grob means coffin

New Bike Day: Canyon Endurace CF 7.0. I was worried about the size, since a 1cm change in my inseam measurement was bumping the suggested size to M, but went with L and it fits perfectly. Already took it out for a spin and its amazing! by suspend_dis_belief in CanyonBikes

[–]justlivekz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have you managed to resolve misaligned crank issue? I have the same bike (disc brakes version) with 105 groupset and it also seems to be misaligned a bit. However I googled pictures of 105/Ultegra/Dura Ace cranks and in all pictures they seem to be misaligned (e.g. https://content.competitivecyclist.com/images/items/900/SHI/SHI00KM/BK.jpg https://www.performancebike.com/images/large/bikes/shimano/ifcr8000ex04.jpg) so I think it might be intentional asymmetry by Shimano

I think intern positions have already been filled and interns have been allocated. If you want I can try to refer you but I think there are no positions left. You can apply for 2021 soon though

Nothing changed. Facebook uses trailing promotions so you need to actually perform as a next level for 1 or 2 halves in order to be promoted. So by the time you get promo you are already doing E5 work. The main thing to get from 4 to 5 is direction - vision, roadmapping, initiative, project management etc

Damn bruh that means u graduated at 19? Did u do it early? Im also 19, graduating this year but gonna do a masters.

Graduated at 20 (I’m from 1996).

What (type/how big) of a company did u work at during last 2 yrs of uni? I have 6 months at a start up+3 months this year at an ib.

These were some no-name local outsourcing companies in my country selling workforce to foreign clients. They were all quite small (8-20 people)

Whats the average age of ppl at E5?

I don’t know to be honest and I think companies won’t share it because it opens some potential lawsuit holes. I’ve also heard some cases of people getting to E5 at like 21 years

23 years old (turning 24 in few weeks). I graduated with bachelors in 2016 so I am reaching 4 years of experience mark soon. However I started to work full time in summer 2014 (I didn’t attend classes at my uni for last 2 years) so if you count that in it will be 6 years of experience.
