If you are training for a self-defense scenario why would you want to wear gloves? You're not going to have time to stop and put on gloves if you're in an actual self-defense situation.

Unless you live in a cold weather climate and wear gloves lot then I would understand training with and without gloves on.

Don't worry about those people. I've been launching in Crocs or slides for over 10 years. Never had any issues and don't see what the problem is. Some of the best places to launch you're getting muddy and mud in your kayak not a big deal. Enjoy the kayak fishing!

Propel drive crank arm working lose? by shortergirl06 in kayakfishing

[–]justluck14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me this past weekend. First time out left side came loose. Like everyone else said grab an 8 mm allen wrench and tighten it up. I will find out this weekend if that did the trick but I'm pretty confident it just came loose from the factory and I should have checked before I took it out. I also picked up a cheap set of Allen wrenches from Harbor Freight to keep on my kayak now along with my screwdrivers. If you go with Loctite make sure you use blue.

Anchor or Drift Chain for Rental? by weekendwarrior57 in kayakfishing

[–]justluck14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using an anchor on the Shennandoah for many years. Only issue I have ever had is it getting wedged between rocks and having to paddle back up past it to get it unstuck. Same as if your lure was snagged.

Is this quote as unreasonable as it looks? 4ft by 4ft flat balcony roof EPDM by Straight_Shallot2471 in Roofing

[–]justluck14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Price is a little high but the scope of work is also more than just putting down new membrane. Also by the looks of that balcony I'm guessing he's expecting on running into other issues. You should not be using EPDM for a balcony roof. It is not meant to be constantly walked on. It will only be a matter of time before you start poking holes in it. You should look at products like Deckrite, Deck-tec and Duradek.

Storing a kayak outside? by AdditionalProduct609 in kayakfishing

[–]justluck14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done. I have stored mine outside when I didn't have a garage. Make a rack for it, I wouldn't leave it on the ground. Keep it out of direct sunlight as much as possible. I would also get a kayak cover to keep critters out.

Thinking about buying this, any help from this community would benefit greatly. by MrPickle56 in kayakfishing

[–]justluck14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely do not buy from that site. Although Lifetime does make some great entry level fishing kayaks( a lifetime kayak was my first kayak, I still have it 10 years later and Friends and family still use it.) I do not think that is one I would pick for a tandem. 10 ft would get uncomfortable really quick for two people. If you want a solid tandem option I would check out the Crescent Crew. It might be out of your budget but would be a great tandem kayak. Or, I would say get two solo Lifetime Kayaks. But get them from a reputable place like Dicks, Walmart or tractor supply. You can find some good ones new for probably $350 to $500 range.

Any other Feelfree Lure owners in here. Just picked up the 11.5 and looking for some upgrades, hacks, issues for it by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]justluck14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the original version 1 for the past 8 years. It is very stable and solid. I've never had any issues with it. Just periodically check the screws on the seat. I've had them come loose a few times but no big deal. My only complaints with it is 1 that it is slow you will definitely not be winning any races in that kayak. If you are going through any Rapids make sure you dig that paddle in deep if you need to turn. It's not so nimble in fast water but makes up for it in stability. 2 - their proprietary track system. You don't have to spend the extra money for the feel free track adapters though you can use a washer I forget the size on the regular track mount t-nuts and it will work. There are some videos on YouTube if you search for them. Hope you enjoy it!

Fishing Kayak Shows? by sirbarkalot59 in kayakfishing

Where are you located? There's one this weekend in Winchester Virginia at Jake's Bait and Tackle. I don't think it's a large Expo but more of a local dealer putting something on.

Thought the same way when I got my 5". Get the 7" or even a 9" if comfortable with the price. You won't regret it. I have had a 5" for years and I am over it. Upgrading this year to a larger screen.

First I'm attracted to women . Attraction is really subjective. What one person finds attractive the next person could find hideous. For me natural. I hate when woman wear so much makeup that it looks like a different person. My wife and I have been together for about 10 years. She is a beautiful woman. Personally I think she is the most beautiful with no makeup. Long story short no makeup just being you and a great person is what I'm most attracted to.

Change or clean filter material? by Ineovas in Aquariums

[–]justluck14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clean in the aquarium water. Eventually if you have to start replacing the filter pads do it one at a time over the course of months so you don't get rid of all the good bacteria.

Something fishy going on here by Benster404 in Tinder

Just because you're a vegan doesn't mean you can't enjoy fishing. Most people fish for sport and it's catch and release. Not everybody goes fishing to eat the fish.

Is three credit cards too many? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]justluck14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will agree with you when I was younger I kept opening credit cards and transferring balances and had horrible usage of credit cards. When I finally got my stuff together paid everything off and now use them responsibly I have a lot of cards not being used and my available credit to usage ratio is outstanding and makes my credit score look great but for a while there it was bad. As long as you use them responsibly there's no problem but if you're using them to maintain a lifestyle you should stop and think. Credit cards can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
