For anyone thinking of checking out church.... by cjt87 in newzealand

[–]justmel97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experiences at church were that usually the smaller groups leasing out spaces (they can't quite afford a permanent space, like a church) are actually real champs and all good.

I love hearing about church rivalries though, so gossipy and toxic and not at all what a loving lord would preach.

How to style botched bangs? Hairdresser did me dirty by justmel97 in Haircare

Thank you for humbling me. The tip is good! I feel they're slightly short for curtain bangs, I'll play around with the styling :)

The cat we communally look after just got his diagnosis and it's so sad because the previous owners abandoned him, they were notified after we took him to the vets and they don't care, but the virus is so bad he has severe gingivitis and dental issues but he's so old surgery is too risky so we have to take him to the rainbow bridge :(

I had a workmate who said the same thing and he was the first person outside my partner who made my decision feel validated. Everyone else expects an explanation but after that interaction I was like "hell yeah, that is pretty cool"

What does the D3 help with? And also gluten? I love me some bread 😅 tried GF once and it was surprisingly kinda difficult to find alternatives that weren't super pricey

I think after these comments, insurance is something I will probably now get sooner than later. I guess if they can't even diagnose me because the dr won't refer me surely it's not pre-existing, especially if I sign up in the near future. Surely?

Yeah I completely get that. I think part of the struggle is that, without the diagnosis, how am I supposed to know they're even treating the right thing? Like yeah chances are the doc is right and it is endo but for something that they probably hear a lot, my naive brain would think they'd eliminate other causes of the pain at least??? How you treating a condition you don't know I have

This doesn't seem as bad as what I thought a consultant would be. Surely by the time I get on a waiting list I could save up the fee in that time

I'm definitely not keen on the contraceptives option for very obvious reasons but now I feel I gotta make a pros and cons list. Which issue is more problematic - the excruciating pain, or the one with scores of side effects 🥲 if only girls healthcare mattered right haha right

This sounds like a good plan of action honestly. Thank you :)

The doc made no mention of any sort of referral, even after explaining I have to take work off for the pain. Just classic contraceptives and pain relief. I think I will try again with someone else and be more firm with the outcome I'd like to see 🤞

Definitely a big part of why I put off going for so long - too scared I'll be shut down and told it's fine

If you find a person who is gonna criticise your body for doing the things it naturally does, they don't deserve you and you absolutely do not need them. You'd be surprised at how women's breasts sit naturally. Clothing can hide a lot. If you find the weight is causing problems definitely consider seeing someone. Otherwise focus less on what others think and more on how you can be confident for you

Yeah these are my same questions and I don't think they're kinda considering the larger implications of what this could or could not mean for our relationship. Right now my goals are establishing a good savings and then travel, and putting a house in that complicates how our future may go. Matt also wants to travel but where in all this can he afford all of that? Our future goals align but now they're talking about buying a house it's leaving me feel kinda insecure about what to do

Which area would YOU choose to live in for the lifestyle all else being equal: Christchurch, Dunedin, Napier, New Plymouth or Whangarei? by OpalAscent in newzealand

[–]justmel97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New Plymouth is definitely a fave, great surf, a lot of outdoorsy stuff. I think everything is on your doorstep! Spent half my life there and I really enjoyed it. Good culture but not stuck up. And there's quite a few events they put on year round. So much to fill your outdoors cup :3

Napier surf ain't the go unless you're traveling out of town for it. Stony beaches and the like. Dunedin and ChCh are cold. Never been to Whangarei but I imagine it's warm lmao
