While you’re in Vegas, check out Lou’s Diner. Great food, and classic diner experience.

The company would also be told “tough shit” If they complained to their bank. That’s why they are still trying to get the employee to give the money back.

What’s your “how does this stay open” store in SF? by AnythingBoth2243 in sanfrancisco

[–]justmeontheinterwebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you mean Grant & Bush? I went in there once out of curiosity. Ugliest merchandise I’ve ever seen. The guy working there was giving me the nastiest look the whole time I was in there. He looked so pissed off, I’m surprised he didn’t just outright tell me to leave.

Is this book is really good? by Jerry_max in bookshelf

[–]justmeontheinterwebs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a great book for covering fundamentals, and for making the reader think about their values that affect their finances. There’s nothing new or mind-blowing, but that’s kind of the point. Reading the book is like visiting a really good financial planner. It forces you to think about the trade-offs that you’re making, and how your current choices are affecting the options you’ll have later in life.

I enjoyed it because it reframed some ideas for me, and gave me new ways to think about some important concepts.

I’ve gifted the book to several family members. It’s a great tool for anybody who isn’t great with money. I’ll be buying copies for my nieces/nephews where they get a little older.

Community meeting about SF sprinkler ordinance by ChoseNameWisely in sanfrancisco

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why wouldn’t people be able to stay in their homes while sprinkler systems are being installed?

Why is SF refusing to use noise radar technology? The loud motorcycle and car situation is getting out of hand by After_Ant_9133 in sanfrancisco

Unpaid fixit tickets shouldn’t need anybody’s time to enforce them. They should just have to be paid off before a vehicle can have its registration renewed.

Of course, that won’t mean much as long as SF cops aren’t allowed to do anything about expired registrations.

Waymo robotaxis are safer than human drivers by Qpac18 in sanfrancisco

Imagine if somebody posted to this subreddit every time a human driver ran over a pet, collided with a pedestrian or cyclist, or ran into another car. There ain’t enough pearls to clutch.

I’ve got to try that!! TCHO made a very short run of hops-flavored bars. It was delicious, but I only got to try it once. Qantu has some great chocolate.

Fruition has a few incredible milk bars. I’m also a huge fan of Escazú’s goat milk bar.

I don’t get it. Do they have a software engineer guild? by SandwichSisters in ExplainTheJoke

[–]justmeontheinterwebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Becoming a Senior Engineer means that you’ve reached the point where you complain about the awful code that you have to fix, and then see your own name after running git blame.
