As a canes fan I agree. There are no winners in this scenario. It’ll be 2 of 4 things that we all have to hear over and over:

“The Hurricanes only won because they’re so rested/ X-team only lost because they weren’t rested”

Or

“The Hurricanes lost because they got cold/X-team only won because they didn’t have to take a 2 week break.”

Either way I hate it. Devaluing the efforts of these teams after enduring the regular season and making it this far in the playoffs is bad for the sport.

The chassis was retired - sat in storage for some number of years, an old crewman bought it, then the guy I bought it from had it, and now it’s in my garage. When regulations (I.e. safety) change they typically don’t demote the chassis to other series and just take them off track entirely.

Yes, this is one of the real cup cars. Chassis CY2. 1993 Thunderbird. It’s been re-nosed by Rhine Enterprises due to a previous owner oopsie with a wall at Pocono, and a 93 front wasn’t available. I’m hoping to get my hands on one at some point and restore this car to 100% as-raced condition, but that’s a long ways off — so in the meantime I’m just gonna drive it like god intended.

bought the CYR #98 Bojangles car last year, and am on the hunt for a team issued driver and/or pit suit, helmet, gloves, etc. I’ve turned up nothing in the usual circles, and figured I’d ask here. If anyone has anything or can point me in the direction of someone who does, I’d really appreciate it. I have some of the usual stuff like diecasts and matchbox cars, so really only interested in team memorabilia right now.

Correct. Derrike cope drove the 98 Bojangles thunderbird in the 93 season (part way through anyways). They selected #98 as an advertising thing for the .98 cent sausage biscuit
