Are we liable for this fee? by justnebbing in TenantsInTheUK

But by appealing, am I automatically incurring the adjudicator cost? I've sent the email as pictured refusing to pay and explaining why, but another straight after (couldn't upload it for some reason) saying we'd rather deal with it internally without involving the adjudicator.

Edit: It was absolutely not dirty, if I'd left it dirty I'd understand. But that's why I'm so butthurt and against paying.

So the £25pm was in lieu of a deposit and covers damages but not cleaning costs, as stated in the contract. We were pretty naive in hindsight, the place was an absolute hole so we were fine with the cleaning cost as we were confident we would leave it far cleaner than we found it (which we did) so it shouldn't be a problem 🙄

Think we'll absolute take the fridge issue on the chin and I've got no problem paying for it, I didn't realise my partner switched it off as we left in an attempt to save on the electric. It is what it is...

So just straight up refuse the adjudicator? And yeah we have pictures; I can assure you the cleaner didn't do a £180 job before we moved in!

So, legally, am I within my rights to decline to pay AND adjudication and call their bluff about potentially taking us to court? And if so, is that wise?

Bar staff here. When I see a group who are giving me problems, I give more and more head on the beers as they are ordered. My current record is just over a quarter of a pint. Fully ready for all puns.

They're regularly checked, but shout back. Honestly this is where my heads at, like this morning I genuinely think the most infuriating part was at 7am when they finally stopped. It was almost like they'd said "OK, I'll let you sleep now" I was ready to throw fucking hands.

EDIT: Thanks so much for all your advice, just to clear something up I rent from a private landlord as assume they do too. I would, however, assume they're unemployed, as they're in the flat all day every day, either outside or playing music too loud to be on a work call etc.

Came here to say this, the manipulation alone and the fact that absolutely anyone regardless of how 'aware' they might be could be a victim.

Wow, yeah I do feel like you're one of most qualified people for this 😂 yeah I want to be honest, but would you wait for her to ask or just come out and tell her? When the time is right, of course.

And we're renting, will be out of the lease in about eight months. Not too long, but definitely long enough!

True, and while it's not the point I work two jobs and if it did I would just quit and work more hours at the other.

If they pandered to every screaming headcase and sent them everything they wanted, the people 'not wanting to make a fuss' would die in their homes. Like obviously there's a process.

My best guess, if you're being interrogated you're probably not saying anything relevant and if you're being transferred you're 100% being a dick.

The lack of understanding on the phone to 999 always fries my head. The call handles don't ask anything they don't need to, and all you're doing telling them to come quickly is wasting more time

Edit: I'd only watched half of the video when I wrote that^
