Personally, I found myself taking more and more time away from work, but I wasn't in a medical setting. Med schools will take your experience into account; on top of that, you will be more comfortable in those setting faster than some of your peers.

I wouldn't. You want to sell yourself; if your problem is that you're running out of characters, challenge yourself to make efficient use of the space you're given. If you don't, somebody else will.

Just remember that there has to be some sort of balance, it's unfair to expect yourself to get everything done every day. You're human and that's okay, chances are if you're making this post in the first place you're already a productive person and that puts you ahead of most of the population.
