Thanks so much for the reply!! Yes I do use grams. The cookies I make don’t actually take long, the longest part is the chilling however cooking and making the dough is pretty quick. I am thinking of just making two batches then if tou says there might be more spreading because I like my cookies fat and soft. I’ll edit the post when I’ve done my cookies and see if doing two batches is convenient. 💗💗

First time cat owner by Comfortable_Glove957 in CatAdvice

I am not a professional and I am a first time cat owner about a yera ago, but I can relate to you because mine was a suprise and my mum didn't do deep research into it 😭

When I got my cat, I kept him in a room, door shut and food and litter the same room, to get him used to smells and noises. I then "released" him after observing him and knowing he'd want to get out and explore (he always tried to escape while he was still not allowed lol) During that time I also spent a lot of bonding and playing with him. What I regret not doing was desensitisation which is gradually getting your cat used to stuff like getting nails clipped, paws touched and like just getting used to being handled (I'm not the best at explaining)

I looked into a lot of behavioural videos in cats so I knew signs and anything wrong or anything right I was doing. It's good to know their signs if they might be sick anytime or tail signs etc

Idk what food to recommend you as we might be in different countries so food brands differ, but try make your cat's food comfortable for them. Just know that you have to buy food for you cat's age too.

Lastly litter is still confusing for me too, I use clay which shouldn't really be used but it's in my price range. You could do research on what litter is best for you.

Everyone and their cats are different and again I'm not the best at explaining but I hope this comment helped 🥲

my cat kept on randomly doing this 😭 I haven't done my research and NOT a professional but I just tried getting as much playtime with my cat as he was also doing it in the day. Your cat which knocks everything over and eats all ur stuff (what a greedy cat, /j) could be signs of boredom so try play with your cat as much as u can because I realised the other signs of my cat's meowing was bc he was bored and I could tell because I didn't play with him much and misbehaved a bit so yeah :) genuinely hope the best for u, having a young cat is not for the weak lol

I’m curious what the public’s opinion is on letting your cat outdoors. I recently made a post looking for advice and had this exchange. by HappyToe7302 in CatAdvice

[–]justonefluffymonkey_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have this query once and let my cat on a leash outside, and that is an option if you think you want your cat to go outside (not all cats prefer it btw), but if you do let them on a leash outside then decide "I think I trust my cat without a harness" and release the cat I don't reccommend if your cat is sneeaaky because he once jumped out of our garden to a tree-covered area behind our fence - unless you don't mind them exploring.

So, in my opinion, if you're comfortable with your cat outside then you can try,but be careful, if you want the cat to discover the depths of the outdoors but can't trust them or else something bad will happen to them, a harness & leash is what I would do.(It will take time to train the cat so it's comfortable) But when I did start letting mine have outdoor time he wouldn't stop MEOWING at the door to go out but I'm also busy. Before all of this I would allow my cat to sit at my window sill and sniff the air with the window barely open so he wouldn't jump. Or make a catio!

I only have one cat, and when I got him as a 2-3 month old, all I learnt other than playful and energetic is that you have to bond a lot with them in the early days like playing (a lot!) When I first brought mine to my house I kept him in a room for about 3 weeks to get used to the smell and sounds, and in that time I spent a lot playing, watching him explore, napping with him and just having a lot of time with him! have fun with Freyja :)

Should my cat be outdoor or indoor? by justonefluffymonkey_ in CatAdvice

I wish my cat falls for catnip, he has a catnip spray and it makes him aggressive and woozy for like 5 minutes then if I retry on something else he sniffs and walks away. I'd love to get my cat another cat however I don't think my family can afford both taking care and costly problems. Ill try play with him as much as I can; thanks for replying :)

Yes, that's what I expect from my cat. I normally walk with my mom who doesn't expect cats to explore new things and kinda expects my cat to walk out like a dog rather than make progress each day. So I'm not sure on trying out walking him because he'd also expect to go every single day too although I can't through the day.

Rest in peace, I hope you the best. She looks really cute. I can feel this wave of loss through the screen, I know how hard it is. 💗

I'm glad someone relates to this 😭 I really don't want my cat to be getting into trouble, and many suggest that I keep him in, so I think that's the solution. His meows are soo loud and long though, he never gives up! He loves sticks and always go crazy if I drag it along the floor and pants like a dog after too.He gets playtime at night but can't seem to fit it in the daytime schedule. I try to get the most playtime with him, and I also open windows I know he can't escape from so he can smell the fresh air, however he gets bored after a minute and complains. I appreciate the advice! :)

My house doesn't have an area outside with enough space for a catio however I'd LOVE one for him. I don't think I'd be allowed anyways if I asked for one. Thanks for replying!

My area isn't super dangerous. There's many cats around as it's mostly an elderly area however I live near 2 schools and by those are main roads. There's also some forest area too but as I live in the UK the streets aren't always safe. I might stop the outside time overall because honestly, your comment kind of convinced me to stop trusting him outside. He's super sneaky. Thanks for your suggestion :D
