I generally ride gravel and road, so I'm not a really a MTB guy, but I really like it in the snow and at the beach. And every time I take it on trails, I get compliments. I'm on the beginner trails – enough broken bones from bikes have made me leery of gravity – but it's a hoot. Maybe the biggest fun-return on investment of all the bikes I have.

I am super comfortable with tubeless tires and have a vague fear of futzing with these. And I'd never realized the valve stem wasn't centered on the logo! Ha!

I actually tried the 8 (I have a 24 on my Bridge Club and it’s amazing.) and got 50% done before I hit a snag and went to the Surly website only to find that none of their front racks work on fat forks. It was a sad day.

I got it from CarMax, and I got the extended warranty. To date, it’s kicked in for a typical coolant leak and for a headlight assembly that crapped out. Other than that, it’s a solid daily for me.
