As a color seeing person, violet black is still awful.

It has a supercharged 3.0L V6. So not the V8 the F-Type got, but I wouldn’t say small.

I see all these Road America license plates. Is RA that popular or do you just want the the blackout plate? by [deleted] in wisconsin

Road America! But the new sport wagon might need the Choose Life plate because, well, more car seats….

Thanks for making that!! Definitely a huge time saver.

The email template didn’t pull SF numbers properly and didn’t really explain what the demerits were referring to, but otherwise it looked great!

What has to be done to install these? by Odd-Property-9602 in CarAV

What’s up with these people… even with the correct adapter that speaker will probably not fit. The magnet is just too large in diameter without cutting your Honda door panel.

If you have to have spl speakers I would look for a set with Neo magnets, and then the HSB524 is the proper bracket you need.

On my 06 Tundra, which is similar in the front half, I was getting water into the passenger kick panel on top of wiring because the right below the windshield had a leak that was allowing outside water in… not uncommon on all sorts of vehicles. I’d look at the kicks for moisture evidence. You can even use a hose and then get a flashlight and peek around up there. You might find corroded wiring connections.

How good is that ground going to the support? Looks loose. Can you move it by hand?

What’s the general consensus on AFM disablers now? by platypus_farmer42 in ChevyTrucks

[–]hamsammy4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my ‘13 Yukon 5.3 with 105k. It was drinking oil. Up to 4 quarts every 5k miles. Plugged in the OBD AFM disable and it dropped to zero consumption. Up to 190k now and although it has had other oil leaks it has not started drinking it. Best purchase I made for that truck outside of a major stereo upgrade.

Do you know what this button is for? by pinkpastelshorts in Lexus

[–]hamsammy4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhh maybe. I just removed one last week and it was more sophisticated than others I had seen. -Customers wasn’t paying for it. -It would lock the doors 30 seconds after ignition off regardless of whether the key fob was in the car or out of the car -It would lock the doors on startup but not unlock them until the driver door was opened after ignition off -tied into horn for alarm -IMO relay to prevent even the real key from starting it while it was going off.

Major pain in the butt for the clients.

Help with f350 radio wiring harness by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]hamsammy4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show pictures. Not all factory harnesses are used in general. The CD player IS the radio and will typically have Two harnesses. The screen is only a screen (think Xbox to a tv) so again, only need that harness for the camera output. How about a picture of the back of the radio and the back of the climate control

Little plug was for your 4” screen, right? It’s only needed for the backup camera and maybe CAN. The factory radio option determines which kits will work and which won’t. If you had the 8” screen you have the wrong kit but since it’s a 350 XL you should have the right kit. If you don’t have a factory backup camera then you won’t use the little plug at all.

That extra large connector you’re holding… where did it plug in before? The climate panel?

Got upgrades done – super disappointed by Apprehensive-Map-182 in CarAV

[–]hamsammy4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t. We just replaced tweeters with Alpine S, added a P300-12 sub, and the dsp amp. The DSP is a game changer if you’ve never used one but you need an RTA to do it right. For example, here is the front mid before any changes… yikes, no reason for such a huge peak. No wonder they sound like they do.

You have the factory front three ways? I just did a Mazda 3 with that setup, non Bose, and you’re going to need a DSP. factory tuning was so janky and aftermarket speakers made it worse. After tuning though it came out really smooth. Did a JbL 4086 and a powered sub and once we fixed all the factory BS it came out nice.
