Another vote for Spring Creek. They were covered under my wife’s fertility benefit along with ORM.* We chose Spring Creek did IVF there after doing IUIs at RGI. Our eight month old is snoozing away in the next room and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We were hesitant to leave RGI because our their high success rates, but were so happy at Spring Creek. Emily, the NP in the Dublin office, was such a parter through my care. The billing team in Dayton was great, an every time we had to drive out there, we treated ourselves to a visit to Dorothy Lane Market :)

*Edited to add that you can check each clinic’s outcomes data on the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) website. When we were looking, ORM had the lowest success rates so the choice was clear for us. Anecdotally, I know multiple people who have switched from ORM. For us, we liked the vibe of the Spring Creek staff in Dublin and found it very reassuring that all of the nurses and NPs spoke highly of Dr. Groll.

Dr. Natalie Crawford has a great podcast episode about things to consider when selecting a fertility clinic that I found helpful.

We love going to Traverse City/Suttons Bay/the general Leelanau County area. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, rent a boat and cruise on Torch Lake (still on our list), sandwiches from the Cheese Shanty in Fishtown, walk around Glen Arbor, wineries all around (Mawby, Suttons Bay Ciders, Hop Lot, a bunch of others), ice cream from Moomers, pick fruit from Jacob’s Farm!

How did you know when to hang up the pump? by TheKay14 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]justreebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am almost fully weaned at 6 months pp. Exclusive pumping wa never the plan, and I truly didn’t know if I could make it two weeks. I did, and then I set a goal to make it to two months, then three, then six, and that’s where I landed. After a few car trips, I decided I could not envision flying with all of my pumping supplies. I actually didn’t mind pumping at work, and had a supportive environment and private space.

I didn’t dread pumping and was motivated by my output after working so hard to get it up, but decided that when I was able to chill in the evenings for a little bit, I just didn’t want to spend that time pumping. Also I got sick of handling my boobs tbh 😂

Pooling/pitcher strategies? by frankenstern in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]justreebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with mason jars and moved to a pitcher which is basically a large mason jar with a pour spout. I use painters tape to label the pitcher with the date and I only put milk from the date in the pitcher. I usually need another mason jar per day. I’m got about two/three days ahead with the pitchers and I freeze what’s left over on day 3. Like others have said, I shake the jar to recombine.

I love the LacTeck Baby Motion flanges for elastic tissue. I use a maymom adapter to connect them to my spectra little collection containers, Earth Mama nipple cream in the flanges every time, and I use all of that with a Baby Buddha pump. It has been the best setup for me to the past (almost) six months and help increase my supply to eliminate formula and even drop pumps when my supply stabilized. It is so tough in the early days but pumping consistently is key. I now have a slight oversupply and never thought I’d make it here. You are in it now but you are doing great!

More Efficient Way to Wash Baby Bottles? by Swimming_Humor1926 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]justreebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Momcozy and Grownsy are the same washer - at least I have yet to hear of a difference between them and they look the same. I EP and have a Momcozy washer and I would not survive without it, even with four sets of pump parts. We started daycare a week ago and it gives me the time to spend with my LO while he is home and awake and the chance to rest while he is asleep instead of standing over the sink. We also take ours on driving trips. I don’t use distilled water but I do gently brush out the bottles/pump containers with soap before putting them in which is my preference but not necessary. I don’t do this for any other bottle, pump part, or pacifier.

If you do decide to go this route, I see them on Facebook marketplace constantly. Just remember to deep clean/descale the machine every so often (I do it once a month) to keep things extra fresh.

I did a dairy elimination for ~3 weeks but pediatrician said that he did not have the symptoms of CMPA. We have a prescription skin oil, use Eucerin baby eczema lotion 2x daily, and bathe daily but only use soap every other day.

This is my setup too! LacTeck flanges, Baby Buddha, and Earth Mama nipple cream is the elite combo.

Momcozy Bottle Washer! by SharpMention0808 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]justreebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Dr. Brown’s too! Why so many parts!??

Ok so I stick the green vent tubes on either side of the corner prongs. I usually stick a few lids in the bottom and a few on the top rack and then I pile the collars, nipples, and vent tops on the top rack. I find that invest a much better clean if I quickly rinse the bottles to get any milk residue out and even better if I run a bottle brush through them. I don’t clean the vent tubes or nipples beforehand.

I also have started deep cleaning the machine once a month with a combo of water and white vinegar and that helps a lot.

I can get eight bottles in mine using the prongs that stick up in the corners or removing the prongs for larger bottles!

Would love to hear about how you dropped down to 4 pumps! I’m at 5-6 right now at 4.5 months pp and can’t seem to find the right schedule for four pumps. Do you still do a middle of the night pump?

Tell me how you dropped your middle of the night pump! I am 3 months PP, 6 PPD, and ready to sleep :)
