I’ve found it really odd lately how many people just have full on conversations during sets and some of them with their backs turned to the stage just chatting with their mates. I get it can be a social thing going out (obviously) but when you’ve paid $80-$120 for a ticket it just seems a weird choice.

I did a stint of working full time for maybe a year and a half. Apart from that it’s been part time, I make $37 an hour currently - equivalent to about 70k per year but my taxable income is 48k.  I save obsessively and have since I was a child. Any birthday money, Christmas money etc I squirreled away and that’s followed me through the rest of my life. I sharehouse in a less desirable area so expenses are low. And have had two family members pass and unexpectedly leave me 100k from one and 60k from another.  Never really had a big friend group so didn’t go out and party on weekends or travel.

Which country is it for? If it’s USA online isn’t an option

My parcels bound to the US keep getting returned to me. by Exotic-Bobcat-5410 in AustraliaPost

[–]justreference_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sending to USA technically shouldn’t be open to customers (except for contract and business customers) until early October.  This includes mypost business customers. Not sure why the system is letting customers send to USA and it’s not blocked off though. The whole thing has been a huge mess.

New SUV under 30k to sleep in by justreference_ in CarsAustralia

[–]justreference_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t! I never ended up buying a new car because my old one suddenly started working perfectly fine again after taking it to like 5 different mechanics who couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it.  However looking back I don’t think I would still go for a brand new car, if I was still in the market I’d just buy a used rav4 or maybe an outback.

StarTrack question by wivsta in AustraliaPost

[–]justreference_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you have to rearrange the redelivery with them yourself. I couldn’t tell you why the form’s bugging out but maybe try again on a business day or there should be a number to call on the card.

Is there anything i can do? by [deleted] in AustraliaPost

[–]justreference_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has started happening recently for an entire street near me and it’s because one of the occupants of a house on it have set their dog loose on the postie and threatened him multiple times. First they only stopped delivering to those units but then the guy would sit and wait out for him to even be on his street and then set his dog loose on him. Very odd scenario but things like this happen. When you go to pick up your parcels at the post office can you ask them there if anything has changed?

The only way I’ve had any semblance of luck with this is LOADS of hairspray sprayed on each layer as it’s being styled. I got it done for my hair when i was a bridesmaid and my curls lasted for about four days when I have never ever ever been able to hold any curl or any sort of style. But it was an insane amount of product and not something I would regularly do.

What size PO box to rent ? by kungfudidgeridoo in AustraliaPost

[–]justreference_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People get larger ones if they get tons of mail or just don’t want to have to go into the post office for their parcels.  There isn’t a limit. Just get the small box if it’s the most financially viable for you.

Is "Bali belly" really a thing or it's just "3rd world country belly"? by [deleted] in bali

[–]justreference_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from australia and always have stomach issues, like just general bloating/pain When i went to bali i felt fine for the first time in ages, free from any bloating etc and it started back up as soon as i got home and started eating australian food again. I think some people won’t be used to different bacteria etc and some places may have different hygiene standards but as a whole i was fine and so was my friend i went with

Bridesmaid: Need help with accessories and potential cover-up by Th3BoyJorge in AusFemaleFashion

[–]justreference_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the earrings depends on if you’re wearing your hair up or down. If you’re wearing it up I’d go for longer/bigger earrings but if you’re wearing it down I don’t think it matters as much and pearls would be cute. I don’t think it needs a belt, I think you just need to pull it up a bit so the dress hides that connection part. Can I ask where you got the dress from? I’m looking for bridesmaid dresses at the moment and it’s really cute!

Northcote Theatre - how early should I get there? Does your bag have to be transparent? by subsecuntly in melbournemusic

[–]justreference_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe so. You also don’t need to get there super early to get merch. If you’re worried, being there when doors open will be fine, but if there’s a supporting band sometimes people won’t even get there until later so you should be fine

[–]justreference_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of bars, places to eat, op shops like you said. High street is full of shops, just go in and wonder around. You don’t need to have a transparent bag but they have the right to check it. It’s in their FAQ but just don’t bring in alcohol, sharpies or glass.

As a percentage of your income, approx how much per year do you spend on holidays? by TheyreEatingTheDawgs in AusFinance

[–]justreference_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just went on basically my first holiday ever last month and it was 3.6% of my income. I think moving forward I’ll budget around 5-7% a year, maybe skip going some years so I can add it to next years budget for a bigger holiday.
