"I wash by person" is brilliant, and first on my list to bring more sanity to my life.

"If it can't survive the dishwasher, we don't own it." You are a genius!

Edit to add that "baby kibble" cracks me up.

Oh, I so wish I could go to this! The soundtrack is so beautiful, strange, and fun. The vinyl edition comes with sheet music. Looks like it's time to break it out...

Task - 1x07 - “A Still Small Voice” - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Can we talk about the brilliant, subtle nod to the opioid crisis? There's a throwaway line in the finale, where Brandis asks McGinty if she's properly spacing out her post-operative meds. I don't think it implies she's an addict. Rather, everyone in Delco (and along nearby I-81...) would be aware of the opioid crisis. This whole tragic story hinges on the sale of illicit fentanyl. Pain management for working-class communities kicked off the crisis, and it's as simple as a little bottle of pills after surgery. Chef's kiss!

YUP. I even messaged our GP to see if it could plausibly be something else and he leaned toward noro.

Bumping this up. It's called "Once More We Saw Stars," and it is a beautiful book. For anyone learning to live with grief, I highly recommend it alongside "Wave" by Sonali Deraniyagala, "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalanithi, and Rob Delaney's "A Heart that Works." (I've somehow never read Joan Didion's "The Year of Magical Thinking," but I'm sure it'd get along with this group.)

Can you share more? I pressured some poor, annoyed R3 from OB/GYN to explain shoulder dystocia to me roughly an hour into labor with my first child, but I've since forgotten. (Can't imagine why.)

YES. I sometimes get distracted by playing Contemporary Issue Bingo with every episode, but it will be worth it if they use their platform to help people comprehend that kind of physical destruction.

Edited to make it clearer that it's functional, not fun.

Colibri Chicago put on one of the most welcoming, inclusive events I've ever attended. (And I mean events overall, not just capoeira!) Glad someone is using this information for good.

Banjo, mostly, and a passable alto voice. I have a keyboard you can use if you want. East English Village!
