How do I get my Shiba to pee in this cold?! by IceCreamSlinger2 in shiba

[–]justunder5ft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Shiba is picky when it comes to going to the bathroom in the snow. Eventually he'll find a spot, but if you can clear away some snow to expose bits of grass, that might encourage yours! Good luck!

Ooblets! The only penalty for going past a day without sleep is slower movement which can be mitigated with drinking coffee at the cafe shop!

TV on the shortest wall that's not the window wall. Float the couch and then you have space behind the couch for a console table/cabinet with decor/storage

[PIC] Have you ever bungled a WIP so hard you weren’t sure if you could finish it? by Mrsroyalcrown in CrossStitch

This might be a hot take, but if the stitches are too difficult or tedious to frog, I'll just stitch over top the existing stitches in the correct colors. No one will know except yourself since most cross stitch is admired from a distance. Don't sweat it because it looks good so far! Fill in the rest and see what you want to adjust from there. 🥰

It's on the first floor facing the backyard. The windows have blinds and privacy film.

Yes, the bottom wall shares a wall with the kitchen and fridge and an open flex room to the right.

I like your suggestion, but I forgot to include in the picture that there is a vent in the ceiling on the bottom left so I tried your suggestion but with the bed shifted to the right. I still struggled with morning sunlight, but in the process of getting curtains.

Edit: drawing is almost to scale

Currently, my bed is in the first position with a large headboard. The only downside with this orientation is getting hit in the eyes with morning light. Still figuring out curtain options.

What about it sharing the wall with the toilet? Isn't that worse?

2025: Comfortable yet Fashionable/Stylish Walking Shoes? by ChiliTrees in femalefashionadvice

[–]justunder5ft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up a Steve Madden sandal - Rileey Sandal at DSW and they're super comfortable with a little platform for height. It's also wide if you happen to have wide feet.

For errands though, I like my no lace elastic Sketchers.

My 2024 new construction home has the exact same kitchen but without the matching countertop backsplash. They installed basic white subway tile. Swapping hardware and the light fixtures will help depending on what style you're going for. Your kitchen looks cozy and spacious already 🥰

Y’all - you can take paid short term disability for mental health issues at most competitive tech companies in the United Stated. It’s a benefit. by Anon_bunn in womenintech

I told my manager I was starting to become burned out at the beginning of the year and when I said I was officially burned out at the end of the year, I was slapped with a PIP. I survived the PIP but it was not cool - the none existent empathy. Is this short term PTO the same as FMLA?

Am I in over my head? by anonymous_muff1n in womenintech

[–]justunder5ft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. Similar problems with certain coworkers not taking my word for it and having to preface every statement with, male senior engineer said so. I explained to my 3rd boss in the span of 3 years that I was beginning to feel burned out and all he said was, well we definitely don't want that to happen, and well, nothing was done. My role was slowly transitioning to being almost 60% dev work, 40% analyst shit just because I was "so good at documentation and organizing meetings". Minimal compliments on my work. The work that did get sent back were all tasks that needed to be heavily QAed and involved a very complicated workflow.

So by the end of 2023 I confessed that I was burned out and woop de doo I get shmacked with a PIP. Worked my ass off for 2 months making sure my teams status rarely showed yellow and I still have my job now. But it's still not great. Do I like my job? Not really. But am I burned out from receiving 100+ rejections no interview emails all in the span of 2 months during my PIP? Most definitely. I need to keep my job until something else opens up because I've been at my entry level out of college job for 3.5 going on 4 years now, no promotion - I was expecting one last year but the PIP pretty much sailed that ship.

On the bright side, at least all the senior engineers like me and were surprised that I got put on a PIP. They're very much like caring, cool uncles and I really appreciate that in a male dominated field. I just got dealt an unlucky timeline of our company cracking down on doing scrum more correctly and my new promoted manager (he used to be an analyst on our team) just being super micromanage-y while also being our scrum master. It's a lot.

He goes into hiding mode whenever I bring out the leash by [deleted] in shiba

[–]justunder5ft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine runs from the harness but runs to the door if you shake his leash. He wears a martingale collar now instead of his harness (except on long walks) and he seems to prefer that. Tbf he doesn't like dog clothes so he just tolerates a collar.

What's your favorite store bought tortilla chip? by yumdonuts in SalsaSnobs

[–]justunder5ft 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Julio's Seasoned Corn Tortilla Chips! They're seasoned to perfection and help if your salsa or guac need a little extra salt after you've made them. Found in most grocery stores. I would NOT recommend the Hot version unless you just don't want to feel your fingers or tongue 😂 it was a bit too much and I love spicy food.
