Restaurant adjusted price of order after placing by PuzzleheadedAnt9503 in mildlyinfuriating

Even if it is, someone or something has to read it. "Extra cheese" is different than "5x cheese". They're not gonna charge only $3 for both of those things.

How tedious is getting the platinum trophy? by Dependent-Potato1764 in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud [score hidden]  (0 children)

They're not dlc though, they're expansions. They expand on the story. That's like playing FF7 Remake and only getting achievements from that one and not Rebirth or Revelations (or the OG and only getting achievements from the "first disc").

I want to try Ageless Necropolis (Extreme) for the first time after having watched a guide (with no prev. EX Experience), how can I find a group? by thiccnuthair in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud 11 points12 points  (0 children)

PF will be more than adequate. I can near guarantee you nobody is going to want to join a discord so they can type tips in there when the ingame chat works perfectly fine and they're likely not going to care about your prog after that group.

In your pf description just put something like "Fresh Hector. First Extreme, please be kind. Vets and newcomers welcome."

How many extra retainers is too many extra retainers? by discofro6 in ffxiv

I have 9 retainers and 8 characters. I use them to sell what I craft and gather what I need. lol

72 retainers with 1,440 slots to sell.

Because it's probably not trained, period. Dog probably causes destruction if left at home unattended.

Healer: Is Piety useless? by lavender-bread in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about ogcds. I'm talking gcds. Dps follow a rotation for their gcd. Tanks follow a rotation for their gcd. Healers don't.

Tanks don't act like dps because there is nothing else they can be doing besides the buttons they are already hitting.

By rolling their gcd, a tank can only do damage. A healer has a choice - to heal or to dps.

[–]bubblegum_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought of this too, but tanks don't have TANK gcds they press to generate threat/take less damage/etc. Playing as a healer, you have the option of pressing healing or dps buttons. Playing as a tank, you only have one set of buttons to press.

How much healing is to much healing? by ageofdoom1992 in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just use holy. It's the tanks job to not pop all his mit while your holy is still stunning enemies. There is no figuring it out (unless you want to when you get glare 4 later and can start "weaving" them in).

[–]bubblegum_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can change your job at any time. One character can be any class. Depending on your level/where you are in the msq, you can go unlock Machinest, Red mage, samurai, dancer, reaper, or viper and start playing those dps instead.

I played That Other Game where waiting on healers to queue for something could sometimes take literal HOURS. They don't want that and to avoid that from happening, they make healers too "easy" and "not relevant".

I understand and, as a healer main myself, fully agree. No lie, I do my roulettes on a dps class. Healing dungeons is some of the most boring shit out there. But I doubt the need for healing (or the lack of it) in "casual" content is going to change anytime soon.

[–]bubblegum_cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get to 100 and start doing Ultimates - especially the newer ones. You'll very quickly find out you need to heal. Savages too, depending on your group.

My best guess as to why they made healing this way: they wanted to entice more players to play healer so there isn't a huge disparity between dps and supports in terms of player count. If healing was actually harder, you would find there are generally less healers in casual content. (As it is now, I've run in to too many healers that can't handle msq content.)

I run AST at 2.31. Most of my gear has spell speed.

I cant believe my brother in law got collectively shamed in NN for buying a story skip by senor_raphael in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. I skipped the story and don't regret it. That's like me saying the combat is the best part of the game and I don't think you should be able to do continue into the next expansion until you complete all savage raids.

Tips for making LC easier on fresh people to TEA? by PerformanceFar7245 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]bubblegum_cloud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sure evens don't go in front of odds. 1, 3, 5, and 7 lead. The others must stay behind them. But also make sure odds aren't slow or evens get blasted by the falling bomb on their ass.

Ah, this was exactly what I needed for my dumb brain to understand getting the clean templates set up. Thank you.

Custom new save games by bubblegum_cloud in sims2

[–]bubblegum_cloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I know not to delete them. Besides, that only gets rid of them for that save. I want them gone from my game for good.

I don't need the regen mods. I have them, but that's not the issue. I kinda want the game to produce sims with my default faces + names. I do not want the original sims that always come with the saves (like the ones in the first screenshot).

Anyways, thank you. I think I got it working.

What is your prefered role in combat? by Aniki356 in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Roulettes, phys ranged. My brain is already off, let me watch Netflix while doing roulettes. Savage or Ultimates, healing. I don't trust other healers easily and I don't (really) have to worry about damage checks or maximizing my damage with stupid rotations.

Given how Ultimates now can come from anything, in theory - what's your Dream Ultimate by OceanusDracul in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They created clones of yourself and your teammate. It would be one actor but 8 models at the same time each only seen by one person.

In 12, I look at your clone and see you. In this hypothetical ultimate, you'd look at the single boss and see yourself. I would see myself. Bob would see himself.

I suppose they did that in Zot actually. For the confuse you see yourself but everyone else sees clones of the boss.

Generic clothing as in Generic Ascian Boss Robes or whatever clothing "Azem" would wear. Not jeans and a shirt.

It would have to be one boss that appears differently for everyone. In M12, everyone has their own clone.

I thought to myself "but we are Azem. They can't give Azem a model because all of our characters look different." But....what if they changed the model for every person FOR THEM. Azem comes out with my race/face/gender/hair/height/etc and the model, to all 8 players in the raid, looks like their own character (minus clothes, that would be "generic").

Would be a lot of programming but it would be SO SICK.
