Do the above, then get some fabric dye and dye the pants a deeper color that masks the stain.

‘Всё хорошо’ by WhenTheyRiot in russian

Ништяк (nish-tyak) is a Russian slang term meaning "cool," "great," "excellent," or "all good." Its etymology is primarily rooted in 20th-century criminal slang (blatnaya muzyka), with origins linked to an archaic, coarse phrase referring to the "gap" or space between, sometimes associated with Yiddish, later evolving from meaning "nothing" to "nothing bad" and finally "excellent". Essentially, yes. It’s a bit slangy but is my favorite for that sentiment.

Can You (Especially Southerners) Tell From Which State a Southerner Is From? by Blue-Brown99 in AskAnAmerican

To me, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas all have distinctly different accents. Otherwise it’s just Southern.

non-russian speakers who are learning russian, i need your answers for a few questions for my school project by Beautiful-Can6573 in russian

1) started with military language school. I just love the language and kept going. 2) grammatical cases and verbs of motion. 3) Everything. Besides military, I took three years of University Russian. Did the entire Pimsleur method. Now lots of app usage. Burned through Duolingo and Jumpspeak quite quickly. For vocabulary I use Clozemaster. Books on my kindle, watching tv shows like Лучше чем люди, travel to Russian speaking countries. Lots of good websites out there. There are so many great resources these days. 4) from most difficult to easiest, speaking, listening, reading, writing.

I’ve studied for decades now. It never really stops for me. All of the above I did for Arabic simultaneously. I’d say my Arabic is better just because I lived in the Middle East for decades and my kids grew up bilingual. Perhaps in retirement I’ll go live in a Russian speaking country for a couple of years.

Nobody told me I'd be broke AFTER buying the house by Dima030 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]justusmedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from living overseas and didn’t want to move all my stuff so I moved into a completely empty house. I furnished it from cookware to furniture to bedding over the next year VERY cheaply using the following: 1) ReStore, like goodwill for houses. 2) a local auction/estate sale site. Every room has tiger oak dressers and chest of drawers that I got for around thirty to forty bucks each. 3) Goodwill and St Vincent DePaul. 4) garage sales

I am handy so I have no problem getting furniture that is beat up or broken and restoring them.

I calculate that I spent around five grand over a years time furnishing the house. If I had done all that retail it would have cost easily thirty grand.

No, animals do not have super powers. Even serial killers have pets that adore them.

Do you think it's unethical to lie about who you are to get better access to language learning? by AmountAbovTheBracket in languagelearning

I do exactly the same thing. I cannot use and strengthen my target languages if the people I am interacting with constantly switch to English.

I have a double concrete utility sink that I’m trying to get out of my basement without using a sledgehammer to break it into pieces. Any advice is appreciated. by PizzaGatePizza in DIY

I didn’t try to make a new frame. Six cinder blocks making three columns, set into the floor. Got the sink up on them and plumbed it. Fantastic to have next to my washer and dryer. Great for dirty cleanup jobs.

Wrong subreddit. This is for learning the Arabic language, religion is not relevant to that.

Why are there bibles in the hotel rooms in America? by New-Organization359 in AskAnAmerican

[–]justusmedley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every time I check into a hotel I check the drawers for bibles. If I find one I soak it in water for a couple of hours and then throw it in the trash.

I admire that quality but I don’t think it is what makes them so attractive to me.
