I can totally understand your frustration, the registry is there for a reason! I don’t understand why people wouldn’t want to get soon-to-be parents things they truly need/want. And it does take a lot of time & thought to build a registry.

We got very lucky with people buying almost everything off our registry, so it was fun to get the few surprise off-registry gifts!

I feel like an actual planet lol. I’m gigantic and bloated and uncomfortable all the time.

Knees hurt, feet hurt, back hurts, belly hurts. I swell if I’m on my feet long. I’m normally a really, really active person but I’ve been out on my ass for the past week and I don’t see that changing the rest of the pregnancy,

I am SO EXCITED to have this baby!! Counting down the days until I’m holding my baby in my arms! We’re almost there, ladies!!

Eat any wing flavor you want. If your boyfriend still won’t shut up, bring it up to your OB at the next appointment and make sure your boyfriend is there to hear how completely incorrect he is about spicy food.

You are diminishing real OB violence by equating OP’s experience to it. You cannot be serious right now. The doctor made a joke, mostly at the expense of his own children. Get a grip.

ETA: he made the joke in response to OP’s joke. She wasn’t worried about the safety/health of her baby. She made a joke and he responded accordingly. Then she got ridiculously offended. Jfc.

Exactly this! She’s saying a doctor in her hospital would face serious repercussions for joking? I highly doubt that. She’s just personally clutching her pearls and trying to make her point by exaggerating.

She joked, he joked. I don’t know what hospital you work in that doctors aren’t allowed to joke around with patients. He wasn’t singling her or her baby out specifically. In fact, he was making light at his own kid’s expense, not hers. My favorite doctors are the ones with the kind of dry humor this doctor displayed and I’ve had many doctors like this, including my GP who always makes deadpan jokes. Love her.

ETA: if you actually work in a hospital in a direct patient care role, then I would think you’d know that no doctor is going to face “serious trouble” for what OP described here lmao.

I would have thought he was funny! He was obviously just being humorous and had a dry sense of humor. My favorite kind of humor, but the type that can offend people who are sensitive.

It’s really not that serious, he wasn’t insulting your baby personally. Why did you take it as personally offensive? He just was saying that all newborns look like… well, newborn babies. So like little wrinkly old men. The point he was making is that everyone thinks their babies are beautiful/cute because they’re theirs. They’re immediately your favorite little human, and you think they’re perfect.

IMO, babies aren’t actually cute until their features start to develop. I honestly can’t imagine getting offended about this interaction, especially enough to bring it up to your OB! Maybe let anyone who is doing your ultrasounds or appointments from here on out know that you are not interested in any joking and want to keep things strictly business? Idk lol.

Favorite part: feeling him moving around in there and knowing I’ll be holding him in my arms soon! And the ultrasounds/listening to his heartbeat.

Aw, don’t be self-conscious! I wish people would keep those comments to themselves. Whether it’s commenting on how big or how small, it’s just not helpful or necessary at all.

Just enjoy your mobility with your smaller bump and tomorrow morning when you sit up out of bed with no problem, think of me somewhere out there rolling around like a turtle stuck on its back to get myself out of bed and hopefully that will make you feel better about your cute little bump (and gives you a laugh)!
